Mayor Chiu introduced a public hearing regarding an annexation, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ANNEXING TO THE CITY A TRACT OF LAND CONTAINING 68.41 ACRES, MORE OR LESS, LOCATED ADJACENT TO THE 1700 BLOCK OF RANCH ROAD 12 (MAJESTIC ESTATES TRACT); APPROVING A SERVICE PLAN FOR THIS TRACT; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mayor Chiu opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. No one did, so Mayor Chiu closed the public hearing. Mayor Chiu opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. Mary Gonzales stated she resides at 3301 Old Bastrop Highway and is totally against her property being included in this annexation. She is satisfied with her current water service and stated it would be detrimental to her neighbors to be annexed. Mary Mendoza stated she purchased land in this area and moved from Gravel Street. She is in the process of building a new home. She is not interested in paying City taxes and will now consider selling this house. Mary Gonzales stated the residents in her area did not know about this annexation and did not see it in the paper.
