Regular Meeting January 10, 2000 Pag~43 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ANNEXING TO THE CITY A TRACT OF LAND CONTAINING 53.989 ACRES, MORE OR LESS, LOCATED ADJACENT TO THE 5000 AND 5100 BLOCKS OF INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 35 SOUTH; APPROVING A SERVICE PLAN FOR THIS TRACT; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mayor Moore opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. No one did, so Mayor Moore closed the public hearing. Mayor Moore introduced a public hearing regarding an Annexation, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ANNEXING TO THE CITY A TRACT OF LAND CONTAINING 35.43 ACRES, MORE OR LESS, LOCATED ADJACENT TO AND NORTHWEST OF BLOCK 1 OF SECTION 5 OF THE TANGLEWOOD ADDITION, OFF OF THE 200 AND 300 BLOCKS OF OAK RIDGE DRIVE; APPROVING A SERVICE PLAN FOR THIS TRACT; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Ms. Hughson filed a disclosure affidavit and left the Chambers during this item. Mayor Moore opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. No one did, so Mayor Moore closed the public hearing. Mayor Moore introduced a public hearing regarding an Annexation, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ANNEXING TO THE CITY A TRACT OF LAND CONTAINING 55.02 ACRES, MORE OR LESS, LOCATED ADJACENT TO AND NORTH OF THE 1800 BLOCK OF RANCH ROAD 12; APPROVING A SERVICE PLAN FOR THIS TRACT; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. Mayor Moore opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. No one did, so Mayor Moore closed the public hearing. Mayor Moore introduced for consideration a public hearing and adoption of a Zoning Ordinance, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING A 2.299 ACRE TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT 5001 IH35 SOUTH, FROM ~AR" (AGRICULTURAL-RANCH DISTRICT) TO ~C" (COMMERCIAL DISTRICT); INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. Mayor Moore opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. No one did, so Mayor Moore closed the public hearing. Mr. Cox moved for adoption of the Zoning Ordinance and Mr. Moseley seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Moore introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE TABLE OF POLICE OFFICER POSITIONS UNDER CITY CODE SECTION 2.373; AND INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS. Mr. Hernandez moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and Mr. Moseley seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Moore introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE AMOUNTS OF FEES FOR ACTIVITIES RELATED TO SIGNS; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES.
