On roll call the following vote was recorded: <br />AYE: Mayhew, Tatum, Doiron, Moseley, Chiu, Cox. <br />NAY: None. <br />ABSTAIN: Hughson. <br />Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration a public hearing and adoption of a Zoning Ordinance, <br />the caption which was read as follows: <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING <br />LOTS 3-27 OF THE ELISEO & GUERRERO SUBDIVISION LOCATED IN THE 200 <br />AND 300 BLOCKS OF ELLIS STREET FROM "I" INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT TO "R- <br />1" SINGLE-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT (LOW DENSITY); INCLUDING <br />PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. <br />Mayor Chiu opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. Paul Lyon, owner <br />of the property, stated his family will build duplexes at this location. He has spoken with Saul <br />Gonzales, a neighborhood representative, over this issue and the neighbors did not have <br />opposition to this zoning request. There were no other speakers, so Mayor Chiu closed the <br />public hearing.
