Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration a public hearing and adoption of a Zoning Ordinance, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING A 12.632 ACRE TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE 1700 BLOCK OF AQUARENA SPRINGS DRIVE, FROM ~C" (COMMERCIAL DISTRICT) AND ~MF-5" (MULTI-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT [HIGH DENSITY]) TO ~MF-4" (MULTI-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT [HIGH DENSITY]); INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. Mayor Chiu opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. Joe Renner, representing the developer, was present to answer questions. No one else wished to speak, so Mayor Chiu closed the public hearing. Mr. Doiron moved for adoption of the Zoning Ordinance and Mr. Moseley seconded the motion. Mr. Moseley asked Mr. Patterson about the bond issue for River Road Improvements in that area, and Mr. Patterson advised the railroad crossing on River Road had been put this project on hold. Mr. Patterson also advised platting can be pursued after the zoning is approved. Mr. Gilley stated there are outstanding alignments on Davis the City is working on with TXDOT. Mr. McCrocklin stated 6 acres is being rezoned from ~M" to MF-2" and the balance from ~C" to ~MF-3".
