Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration a public hearing and adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING AND ACCEPTING A GRANT AWARD FROM THE BUREAU OF JUSTICE ASSISTANCE FOR A LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT BLOCK GRANT; APPROVING THE CONTRIBUTION OF MATCHING FUNDS BY THE CITY AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL GRANT RELATED DOCUMENTS ON BEHALF OF THE CITY; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mayor Chiu opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. No one did, so Mayor Chiu closed the public hearing. Mr. Doiron moved for adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Mayhew seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE CITY BUDGET ORDINANCES FOR 1999-2000 AND 2000-2001 FISCAL YEARS TO PROVIDE FOR END-OF-YEAR RECONCILIATION OF REVENUES AND EXPENDITURES, AND TO REAPPROPRIATE FUNDING FOR THE ENCOURAGEMENT OF THE ARTS; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mr. Doiron moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and Mr. Mayhew seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE SALE OF A PORTION OF LOT 5, BLOCK 7, D. S. COMBS ADDITION, LOCATED AT 317 JACKMAN STREET TO HABITAT FOR HUMANITY - SAN MARCOS AREA; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A SPECIAL WARRANTY DEED; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mr. Doiron moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and Mr. Moseley seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration reconsideration of a Zoning Ordinance. The Council did not wish to reconsider this Ordinance.
