Regular Meeting February 25, 2002 13~. 3 age AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 2.091(b) OF THE CITY CODE TO REVISE RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS FOR MEMBERS OF THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION; PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES; AND INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS. Mr. Mihalkanin moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and Mr. Mayhew seconded the motion. Ms. Hughson asked if, in Section 1 (b) on line 7, "may" should be changed to "will". Mr. Taylor stated it would be Council's choice. Mr. Mayhew stated the wording should be left as is. The Council then voted unanimously for approval of the Ordinance on first reading. Mayor Pro-Tem Hughson introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on second reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 2.069 OF THE CITY CODE TO REVISE CITY BOARD AND COMMISSION MEETING ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS; AND INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS. Mr. Mayhew moved for approval of the Ordinance on second reading and Ms. Tatum seconded the motion. Ms. Hughson asked if the Ordinance as written, means that absences from committee and special meetings would count against them? Mr. Taylor stated the way the Ordinance is written, an absence at a Special Meeting will not count against them. Ms. Hughson stated she liked the Ordinance before when maximum substitutions were limited to three. The Council then voted unanimously for approval of the Ordinance on second reading. Mayor Pro-Tem Hughson introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on second reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, REVISING AND UPDATING CHAPTER 14, BUILDINGS AND BUILDING REGULATIONS, OF THE CITY CODE; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. Mr. Mihalkanin moved for approval of the Ordinance on second reading and Mr. Mayhew seconded the motion. The Council then voted unanimously for approval of the Ordinance on second reading. Mayor Pro-Tem Hughson introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 102.029 OF THE CITY CODE BY ADOPTING THE SECTOR FIVE PLAN; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES.
