<br /> 38. <br />Regular Meeting January 28, 2002 Page 3 <br />Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration approval of two appointments to <br />the Youth Commission to complete vacancies. Ms. Tatum moved to appoint <br />Donald O. Cunnion to complete a vacancy as the Chamber of Commerce's <br />representative, which passed unanimously. The remaining appointment will <br />be rescheduled. <br />Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration approval of one appointment to the <br />Human Services Advisory Board of a member with a degree in social work. <br />The Ethics Review Commission recommended the Council change the <br />composition of this Board to seven voting members and two non-voting <br />members with a degree in social work. Ms. Hughson recommended the Council <br />have seven voting members and one non-voting member with a degree in <br />social work, and Council agreed. Mr. Taylor will provide an Ordinance <br />amendment. The appointments will be rescheduled following the Ordinance <br />amendment adoption. <br />Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration approval of one appointment to the <br />Zoning Board of Adjustments and Appeals to complete a vacancy. Ms. <br />Hughson moved to appoint Linda Keese as Alternate 2 to complete a vacancy, <br />which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration approval of one appointment to the <br />Arts Commission to complete a vacancy. Ms. Hughson moved to appoint Betty <br />Banks, Mr. Cox moved to appoint John Diaz and Ms. Tatum moved to appoint <br />Cheryl McWilliams. On roll call the following vote was recorded: <br />BANKS: Mihalkanin, Montoya, Hughson, Mayhew. <br />DIAZ: Chiu, Cox. <br />MCWILLIAMS: Tatum. <br />Ms. Banks will complete the vacancy on the Arts Commission. <br />Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration approval of six appointments to <br />the Land Development Steering/Policy Committee. Mr. Mihalkanin moved to <br />appoint Sherwood Bishop, Ms. Hughson moved to appoint John Wade, Mr. <br />Mayhew moved to appoint Jim Kimmel and Ms. Tatum moved to appoint Aart <br />Millecam, which passed unanimously. The remaining two appointments will <br />be rescheduled. <br />Mayor Chiu introduced the final report presentation by Chair, Diana <br />Finlay, for the Sesquicentennial Committee. Ms. Finlay noted the report <br />had been given to the Council in writing, then made a brief presentation <br />of the many activities that transpired during the Sesquicentennial year. <br />Ms. Finlay thanked the Council for their support, staff members and all <br />the citizens who participated in making the Sesquicentennial year a <br />successful celebration. <br />
