2 Regular Meeting April 26, 1982 Page 2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY TO ADD A SECTION TO PROHIBIT THE PLACE- MENT OF SIGNS, PLACARDS, ADVERTISEMENTS AND INSCRIP- TIONS ON CITY PARKLAND; PROVIDING AN EXCEPTION FOR SIGNS PLACED BY CITY EMPLOYEES FOR TRAFFIC, SAFETY OR IDENTIFICATION PURPOSES PROVIDING A PENALTY; SUS- PENDING THE RULE REQUIRING THAT ORDINANCES BE READ ON THREE SEPARATE DAYS AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. Mrs. Norris moved for the adoption of the Ordinance and Mayor Crad- dock seconded the motion to get it on the table for discussion. After a discussion on what signs might be allowed to be placed on parkland (such as permanent, temporary, etc.), Mrs. Norris moved the Ordinance be tabled and Mr. Farr seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. By consensus of the Council, the City Manager was directed to have the Director of Recreation present this matter to the Parks Board at their next meeting to be considered. Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration the adoption of an Ordin- ance on emergency, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE SALE OF A PORTION OF LOT EIGHT (8), STOKES RESUBDIVISION OF LOTS 17-26, 37-42, 63-73 AND 49-50 OF THE Z. WILLIAMSON ADDITION TO THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, HAYS COUNTY, TEXAS, TO JOh~ J. STOKES; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A SPECIAL WARRANTY DEED CONVEYING SAID PROPERTY; SUSPENDING THE RULE REQUIRING THAT ORDINANCES BE READ ON THREE SEPARATE DAYS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. Mr. Kreczmer moved for adoption of the Ordinance and Mrs. Norris se- conded the motion. Mr. Stokes advised the Council under City Manager Fuller a lift station was to be placed on his property on a temporary basis. He thought he had executed an easement for the lift station but had signed a deed conveying the property to the City for the lift station. The lift station was never in fact placed on this property. The Ordinance was passed unanimously. Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on second reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, DEDICATING 0.57 ACRES OF LAND LOCATED IN SAID CITY FOR PARK PURPOSES AND DECLARING AN EF- FECTIVE DATE. Mr. Farr moved for approval of the Ordinance on second reading and Mr. Kreczmer seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on second reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED SEPTEMBER 29, 1980 (VOL. 54) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF LOT NOS. 103, 104, 117, 118, 119 AND 120 IN BLOCK NO. 12 OF THE WESTOVER ADDITION, A/K/A 1401 AND 1403 DELMAR AND 1400, 1402, 1404 AND 1406 EARLE STREET, FROM IIR-l" (SINGLE-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT) TO "R-2" (DUPLEX OR TWO-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT).
