<br />2 <br /> <br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />April 26, 1982 <br /> <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF <br />SAID CITY TO ADD A SECTION TO PROHIBIT THE PLACE- <br />MENT OF SIGNS, PLACARDS, ADVERTISEMENTS AND INSCRIP- <br />TIONS ON CITY PARKLAND; PROVIDING AN EXCEPTION FOR <br />SIGNS PLACED BY CITY EMPLOYEES FOR TRAFFIC, SAFETY <br />OR IDENTIFICATION PURPOSES PROVIDING A PENALTY; SUS- <br />PENDING THE RULE REQUIRING THAT ORDINANCES BE READ <br />ON THREE SEPARATE DAYS AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />Mrs. Norris moved for the adoption of the Ordinance and Mayor Crad- <br />dock seconded the motion to get it on the table for discussion. <br />After a discussion on what signs might be allowed to be placed on <br />parkland (such as permanent, temporary, etc.), Mrs. Norris moved <br />the Ordinance be tabled and Mr. Farr seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously. By consensus of the Council, the City Manager <br />was directed to have the Director of Recreation present this matter to <br />the Parks Board at their next meeting to be considered. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration the adoption of an Ordin- <br />ance on emergency, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS <br />OF THE SALE OF A PORTION OF LOT EIGHT (8), STOKES <br />RESUBDIVISION OF LOTS 17-26, 37-42, 63-73 AND 49-50 <br />OF THE Z. WILLIAMSON ADDITION TO THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, HAYS COUNTY, TEXAS, TO JOh~ J. STOKES; <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A SPECIAL WARRANTY <br />DEED CONVEYING SAID PROPERTY; SUSPENDING THE RULE <br />REQUIRING THAT ORDINANCES BE READ ON THREE SEPARATE <br />DAYS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />Mr. Kreczmer moved for adoption of the Ordinance and Mrs. Norris se- <br />conded the motion. Mr. Stokes advised the Council under City Manager <br />Fuller a lift station was to be placed on his property on a temporary <br />basis. He thought he had executed an easement for the lift station <br />but had signed a deed conveying the property to the City for the lift <br />station. The lift station was never in fact placed on this property. <br />The Ordinance was passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance <br />on second reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, DEDICATING 0.57 ACRES OF LAND LOCATED <br />IN SAID CITY FOR PARK PURPOSES AND DECLARING AN EF- <br />FECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Farr moved for approval of the Ordinance on second reading and Mr. <br />Kreczmer seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance <br />on second reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE <br />WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE <br />OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED SEPTEMBER <br />29, 1980 (VOL. 54) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF LOT NOS. <br />103, 104, 117, 118, 119 AND 120 IN BLOCK NO. 12 OF <br />THE WESTOVER ADDITION, A/K/A 1401 AND 1403 DELMAR <br />AND 1400, 1402, 1404 AND 1406 EARLE STREET, FROM IIR-l" <br />(SINGLE-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT) TO "R-2" (DUPLEX OR <br />TWO-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT). <br />
