City Council Meeting Minutes February 24, 2021 <br />For: 7 - Mayor Pro Tem Derrick, Mayor Hughson, Council Member Baker, Council Member <br />Gonzales, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Scott, Council Member Garza and Council <br />Member Gleason <br />Against: 0 <br />15. Consider approval of Resolution 2021-41 R, Authorizing Extraordinary Optional <br />Redemption of a portion of the City of San Marcos, Texas Special Assessment Revenue <br />Bonds, Series 2020 (Whisper Public Improvement District). <br />MAIN MOTION: A motion was made by Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Scott, <br />seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Derrick, to approve Resolution 2021-41R. <br />Ms. Kalka provided a brief introduction and introduced Bart Fowler, bond <br />counsel. Mr. Fowler stated the prepayment was made on February 12th. <br />Approval of this bond document is required and due to the delay in the <br />meeting last week the closing will happen on March 29. <br />MOTION TO AMEND: A motion was made by Mayor Hughson, seconded by <br />Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Scott, to amend Resolution 2021-41R, by changing all <br />references of March 19 to March 29. The motion carried by the following vote: <br />For: 7 - Mayor Pro Tem Derrick, Mayor Hughson, Council Member Baker, Council Member <br />Gonzales, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Scott, Council Member Garza and Council <br />Member Gleason <br />Against: 0 <br />MAIN MOTION: to approve Resolution 2021-41R, as amended. The motion <br />carried by the following vote: <br />For: 7 - Mayor Pro Tem Derrick, Mayor Hughson, Council Member Baker, Council Member <br />Gonzales, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Scott, Council Member Garza and Council <br />Member Gleason <br />Against: 0 <br />16. Consider approval of Resolution 2021-35R, approving the award of a Construction <br />Contract to Seidel Construction, LLC, for construction of San Marcos Fire Station No. 6 in <br />the amount of $5,502,900.00; authorizing the City Manager or his designee to execute <br />the contract on behalf of the City; and declaring an effective date. <br />A motion was made by Council Member Gleason, seconded by Mayor Pro <br />Tem Derrick, to approve Resolution 2021-35R.
