City Council Meeting Minutes February 2, 2021 <br />Therapeutic Infusion Center In Austin <br />— Center provided with Regeneron to treat patients, who meet certain criteria, <br />with a referral from a hospital or doctor <br />— Since opening on January 6th with 9 infusion chairs, the Austin Regional <br />Infusion Center has treated 279 outpatient cases of COVID-19 <br />— Including 24 additional infusion chairs, staff, and medical equipment, the <br />infusion center will be able to increase capacity to treat a greater number of <br />COVID-19 patients <br />Vaccination Update <br />• Week 1 vaccination hub was held in San Marcos <br />— Planned for 1,950 doses <br />— Bulk of those administered at remote clinic — SMHS <br />— Remaining doses administered at Live Oak Community Clinic <br />— Frustration with sign-up process; actual clinic ran very smoothly <br />• Approximate total across 2 days — 2,034 vaccines administered <br />• Week 2 at Hays ISD Performing Arts Center <br />• Week 3 at Wimberley First Baptist Church <br />• Week 4 in Dripping Springs and San Marcos (2nd doses) <br />Council Member Baker mentioned the Center for Disease Control and <br />Prevention (CDC) and epidemiologist, Eric Schneider stated family gatherings <br />have been the cause of COVID spread. How does Mr. Schneider separate data <br />points from gatherings and "who knows where they have been" during the <br />gatherings. He stated he feels that some of those gatherings could be at <br />restaurants. Mr. Stapp had asked Mr. Schneider for contract tracing but <br />didn't ask to differentiate the two. Council Member Baker expressed concern <br />that he has not been invited to the elected officials meeting with Hays County <br />and would like to be included. Council Member Baker stated he believes that <br />the contract tracing is not being tallied correctly. Council Member Baker <br />mentioned that at the next meeting, he would like to have Mr. Schneider <br />available to answer questions. Mr. Stapp stated he would like to receive <br />questions from Council to present to the official call. <br />Council Member Garza stated she has reached out to Hays County to get more <br />information regarding the official call. Council Member Garza thanked Mr. <br />Stapp for offering to ask questions but would like to attend the meetings for <br />better understanding and to share the information to constituents to avoid <br />barriers. Mayor Hughson stated the elected officials call is the County Judge's <br />call and it is for Mayors and school district representatives. During the <br />Mayor's call reports are discussed but questions arise mainly from the school <br />districts. No secret information is shared and all reports are public.
