Staff supports the <br />Committee Recommendations <br />MAIN MOTION: A motion was made by Council Member Baker, seconded by <br />Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Scott, to approve Resolution 2021-127R. <br />Council Member Garza stated few organizations applied and inquired why <br />businesses did not apply. Ms. Griffith stated the Coronavirus Nexus section <br />stopped people from applying due to the requirements. <br />Council Member Baker would like to open up the application process again. <br />Ms. Griffith recommends incorporating the remaining $499,120 into the <br />Human Services Advisory Board application process this year, and remove the <br />stipulation that the program must be related to negative impacts of the <br />pandemic. <br />MOTION TO AMEND: A motion was made by Mayor Hughson, seconded by <br />Council Member Gleason, to amend the fund allocation to include $150,000 go <br />towards Together for a Cause. <br />The motion to amend carried by the following vote: <br />For: 7 - Mayor Pro Tem Derrick, Mayor Hughson, Council Member Baker, Council Member <br />Gonzales, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Scott, Council Member Garza and Council <br />Member Gleason <br />Against: 0 <br />MAIN MOTION: to approve Resolution 2021-127R, as amended. Consider approval of Resolution 2021-128R, approving an Election Services Agreement <br />with the Hays County Elections Administrator for the provision of Election Services for the <br />City's General and Special Election to be held on November 2, 2021 and, if necessary, a <br />Runoff Election to be held in accordance with State law; authorizing the Interim City Clerk <br />to execute the agreement on behalf of the City; and declaring an effective date. <br />A motion was made by Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Scott, seconded by Council <br />Member Gleason, to approve Resolution 2021-128R.
