City Council Meeting Minutes August 17, 2021 25. Consider the nomination of City Manager, Mayor and two Council Members to serve on the Greater San Marcos Partnership Board of Directors, and provide direction to Staff. Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Scott nominated himself and Council Member Gonzales to continue service on the Greater San Marcos Partnership Board of Directors. Mayor Hughson nominated Bert Lumbreras to fill the City Manager position and herself to fill the Mayor position. Council Member Baker nominated himself to serve. Council Member Garza nominated herself to serve. Following a roll call vote City Manager Bert Lumbreras and Mayor Hughson were unanimously appointed to serve on the Greater San Marcos Partnership Board of Directors. Following a roll call vote Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Scott and Council Member Gonzales received a majority of votes and were appointed to serve on the Greater San Marcos Partnership Board of Directors. For: 7 - Mayor Pro Tem Derrick, Mayor Hughson, Council Member Baker, Council Member Gonzales, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Scott, Council Member Garza and Council Member Gleason Against: 0 26. Consider the appointment, to fill a vacancy, of a city representative to the Core Four Task Force, and provide direction to Staff. A motion was made by Mayor Hughson, seconded by Council Member Baker, to appoint Cassie Pittman to the Core Four Task Force. The motion carried by the following vote: For: 7 - Mayor Pro Tem Derrick, Mayor Hughson, Council Member Baker, Council Member Gonzales, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Scott, Council Member Garza and Council Member Gleason Against: 0 27.
