City Council <br />Meeting Minutes August 17, 2021 <br />hospitalizations and 49 people are currently hospitalized. Out of those <br />currently hospitalized, Eight (8) are fully vaccinated while 41 are unvaccinated. <br />• 132,853 total Hays residents vaccinated with at least one dose <br />• Common providers - HEB, Wal Mart, Sam's Club, Medpark, B&J <br />Pharmacy, Wimberley Pharmacy, Dripping Springs Pharmacy, Hays County <br />Health Pharmacy and hub clinics <br />• Vaccination appointments available at www.haysinformed.com <br />• Monday -Friday, Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines @ Live <br />Oak <br />Community Clinic, 401 Broadway, San Marcos, 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 1:30-4:30 <br />p.m. <br />• Monday -Friday - Walk-in Pfizer vaccine clinics @ CommuniCare, 2810 Dacy <br />Ln., Kyle, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1-3 p.m. <br />Hays County Vaccination percentages: <br />• County: Hays <br />• Percentage of Population 12+ Vaccinated with At Least One Dose: 66.61% <br />• Percentage of Population 12+ Fully Vaccinated: 55.53% <br />• Percentage of Population 65+ Vaccinated with At Least One Dose: 95.78% <br />• Percentage of Population 65+ Fully Vaccinated: 85.30% <br />Mr. Fitch stated there are 132,853 people that have been vaccinated with at <br />least one dose and 110,130 that have been fully vaccinated. He expressed <br />concern with the low percentage of people vaccinated in the Asian, African <br />American, and Hispanic population. <br />Mr. Fitch stated we have 90% recovery rate and as of today, there are 112 <br />fatalities. He mentioned if the hospital continues to see a surge of Covid <br />patients, patients will be released that don't need to stay overnight to <br />accommodate those needing to be hospitalized. He said there are currently 67 <br />hospitalized, 705 active cases with no new cases. <br />COVID-19 Outreach Group <br />• The COVID 19 outreach group was designed to increase the City's <br />community outreach messaging. <br />• Challenges: how to reach sectors of the community that are not "digital" and <br />those who are hesitant to receive the vaccine. <br />Action Items: Outreach External <br />• 8/11/21 COVID Outreach Planning Group will increase outreach to <br />underserved communities on vaccine FAQ/ Facts and how and where to receive <br />City of San Marcos Paye 2 <br />
