75 Regular Meeting July 26, 1982 Page 3 Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 6, ENTITLED "CEME- TERIES'', OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY TO ESTABLISH A CEMETERY COMMISSION, TO DEFINE RESPONSI- BILITIES OF SAID COMMISSION; TO SET THE LENGTH OF TERMS OF OFFICE ON SAID COMMISSION AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mrs. Norris moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and Mrs. Mendez seconded the motion. Mayor Craddock moved the Ordinance be amended in Section 6-37(d) to change the requirement of "monthly" meetings to "periodical" meetings and Mrs. Norris seconded the mo- tion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Craddock moved the Ordinance be amended in Section 6-38 to change the membership from "7" members to "5" members and Mr. Farr seconded the motion, which passed unani- mously. Mr. Moore moved the Ordinance be amended in Section 6-40 to require the terms of "three" members (rather than "four") shall expire on the date of the first regular city council meeting in June of odd numbered years and the other "two" members (rather than "three") terms shall expire on the date of the first regular city council meeting in June of even numbered years, and Mrs. Norris seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mrs. Norris moved the Ordinance be amend- ed in Section 6-42 by deleting the section in its entirety and Mrs. Mendez seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Council then voted unanimously in favor of approving the Ordinance on first reading. Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on second reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THAT ORDINANCE OF OCTOBER 20, 1952, WHICH FIXED RENTALS TO BE PAID BY GAS COMPANIES FOR THE PRIVILEGE OF USING WITH THEIR PIPES AND FIX- TURES THE STREETS, EASEMENTS, ALLEYS AND OTHER PUBLIC WAYS WITHIN THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, TO CHANGE THE FO~{ULA FOR DETERMINING THE AMOUNT OF SAID RENT- ALS AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mrs. Norris moved to approve the Ordinance on second reading and Mr. Kreczmer seconded the motion. Mr. Kreczmer then amended the Ordinance to correct two typographical errors in SECTION 1. Section 3., and Mr. Brown seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Council then voted unanimously in favor to approve the Ordinance on second reading. Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on second reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ~4ENDING THAT ORDINANCE ADOPTED SEP- TEMBER 8, 1981, WHICH SET FORTH AN ITEMIZED ESTIMATE OF THE EXPENSE OF CONDUCTING EACH ADMINISTRATIVE UNIT OF THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT OF SAID CITY FOR THE FIS- CAL YEAR BEGINNING ON OCTOBER 1, 1981, AND ENDING ON SEPTEMBER 30, 1982, AND APPROPRIATED MONEY FOR THE VARIOUS FUNDS AND PURPOSES OF SUCH ESTIMATE TO REVISE SAID ESTIMATES AND TO REAPPROPRIATE SAID FUNDS; ADOPT- ING SAID REVISIONS AND ESTIMATES AND DECLARING AN EF- FECTIVE DATE.
