“Art exhibits and artist lectures, music and dance performances.” <br /> “Live music.” <br /> “Cultural celebrations.” <br />“Bring back Chilimpiad. More parades like the Mardi Gras parade.” <br />“More 3D artists.” <br /> “Sculpture parks and walks.” <br />Quality of arts and culture activities.A few respondents commented on the qualityof offerings. <br /> “I don’t want more in terms of quantity; I want more in terms of quality.” <br /> “Would like the museums to be more interesting with rotating exhibits.” <br />“Ones with high quality, original artwork.” <br />Changes in approach to offerings.Some participants reported that they would like to see changes in what <br />and/or how events and activities are offered. <br /> “Anything but mainly the events need to be well planned, organized, and advertised.” <br /> “We have great ones already, they just need thoughtful growth and community <br />participation.” <br /> “I would like to see more activities directed towards our children.” <br />Where participants would like to see more public art in San Marcos. Most participants that responded <br />provided feedback on the physical locations where they would like to see more public art. Others reported <br />on other aspects of public art that they would like to see. <br />Location. Workshop respondents listed physical locations where they would like to see more public art in <br />numerous locations throughout the city. <br /> “Along the river.” <br /> “Neighborhoods! Bring art and culture to where folks already are to celebrate the culture of <br />their neighborhoods.” <br /> “Downtown.” <br />“Literally everywhere.” <br /> “More murals and art in public and private places/locations.” <br /> “I would like to see installations outside of downtown and the square.” <br />Quality and type of art. Some participants provided input on the type of public art they would be <br />interested in seeing. <br /> “Would like to see better public art.” <br /> “Would like to see more statues, fountains, sculptures, and architectural art in prominent <br />places.” <br /> “… just more is not better.
