Services to be performed by the Engineer <br /> The Engineer shall provide engineering and technical services for the final design. The work shall <br /> be completed in general accordance with the City of San Marcos, Federal Highway Administration <br /> (FHWA), National Association of City Transportation Engineers (NACTO), and TxDOT standard <br /> requirements where applicable, and may exceed minimum requirements by request of City's <br /> scope of improvements. <br /> 1. Final Design Services (90%/100%) <br /> I. Project Management& Meetings <br /> • The Engineer will manage engineering services to complete the project on time <br /> including, progress reports, milestones and invoicing. <br /> • The Engineer will attend and document one kick-off meeting and up to 2 <br /> progress/comment resolution meetings. The Engineer will prepare meeting minutes <br /> including action items to help maintain project schedule <br /> • The Engineer will prepare monthly status reports to be included with the monthly <br /> invoice. <br /> ll. Data Collection <br /> • Collect and review available information including existing reports, traffic data, record <br /> drawings, O/H and underground as-built utility plans and other pertinent information. <br /> • Conduct field observation with the City Staff to identify and evaluate constraints and <br /> document existing traffic signal infrastructure, including poles, mast arms, signal <br /> heads, signs, detection, communication equipment, ground boxes, and controller <br /> cabinet. <br /> Ill. 90% Plans & Contract Documents <br /> • Prepare Title, Index, and traffic control plan. Develop construction sequencing and <br /> phasing for the project, and prepare traffic control plan layout sheets for up to three <br /> (3) phases of traffic control. <br /> • Prepare intersection plan view layout detailing the reconstruction of the curb ramps on <br /> the northwest and southwest corners of Hopkins Street/Guadalupe Street <br /> • Prepare pavement markings plans for striping between Fredericksburg Street to LBJ <br /> Drive. <br /> • Prepare removal sheet including removals for existing ramps/concrete sidewalk, <br /> pavement markings, signs, signal poles and other required infrastructure. Removal <br /> sheet will also incorporate erosion control measures for downstream inlets. <br /> • Prepare construction plans to modify the existing traffic signal at the intersection. The <br /> modification will consist of installing one new mast arm pole to accommodate the <br /> modified lane configuration and installing pedestal poles with APS push buttons for <br /> each crosswalk (4). The signal modification will consist of the following tasks: <br /> o Review available design, as-built, and/or record drawings for existing traffic <br /> signal infrastructure. <br />
