No one did, so Mayor Morris <br />closed the public hearing. Mr. Hart moved for adoption of the <br />Zoning Ordinance and Ms. Kissler seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration a public hearing and <br />adoption of a Zoning Ordinance, the caption which was read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY <br />ZONING LOT 24, OUT OF THE A. M. RAMSAY SUBDIVISION OF 32 1/2 <br />ACRES OF LAND OUT OF THE J. M. Mr. Hart moved for adoption of <br />the Zoning Ordinance and Mr. Hernandez seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced a discussion by Monica Davidson regarding <br />Keep Hays County Beautiful proposal and direction to Staff. Ms. <br />Davidson stated she contacted Allen Goldapp regarding whether he <br />is certified by the Keep America Beautiful program. He advised <br />her he was certified in connection with SWT and is no longer <br />certified or involved with that program. Mayor Morris stated she <br />was interested in a city-wide program before pDrsuing a <br />county-wide program. The Council asked information about the <br />proposed budget. Ms. Davidson stated the team members would be <br />unpaid volunteers, the coordinator position would be a paid <br />position and possibly one or two staff would be paid. The <br />requested contribution from the City of San Marcos is $4,000.00. <br />Mr. Moore stated it is his understanding three members are <br />certified at a time for a program. The Council requested <br />information regarding the proposed annual budget and how it would <br />be subsequently funded. The Council stated they are interested <br />in a program to Keep San Marcos Beautiful if funding approval is <br />also forthcoming from other municipalities. Mr. Guerra asked Mr. <br />Gilley if such a program could be handled by city staff. Mr. <br />Gilley stated it could be, and Mr. Caruso stated their <br />discussions with BFI have mainly centered on recycling. Mr. <br />Gilley stated the K.A.B. program centers around behavior <br />modification, and Staff would need to be educated before pursuing <br />the program with the public.
