Section 4. Educational Incentive Pay. <br />Educational Incentive Pay shall be provided to officers who qualify for such payment by <br />furnishing documented proof of a Bachelor's, Associates or Master's Degree. <br />Effective October 1, 2009, Officers who hold a Bachelors or Master's Degree shall receive an <br />education incentive pay of $50 per month. <br />Effective October 1, 2010 Officers who hold the following Degree shall receive an education <br />incentive pay only for the highest degree as follows: <br />Associates degree $ 25 per month. <br />Bachelors Degree $50 per month. <br />Masters Degree $75 per month <br />Section 5. Maximum Amounts. <br />Officers eligible to receive education incentive pay are limited to the maximum amount of <br />$50.00 per month until October 1, 2010. Officers eligible to receive education incentive pay <br />after October 1, 2010 are limited to the maximum amount of $75.00 per month without <br />pyramiding. <br />Section 6. On Call. <br />Effective on the date of this Agreement Detectives assigned to Narcotics or to Criminal <br />Investigations who are assigned to be, and are actually on call for one week in every other <br />calendar month, will receive additional compensation in the amount of $40.00 per month. <br />Section 7. Bilingual Pay. <br />a. Effective on the date of this Agreement Bilingual pay will be paid at the rate of $40.00 <br />per month for Officers certified under standards established by the Chief and assigned to the <br />bilingual program. The bilingual program shall include and is limited to Spanish and sign <br />language for the deaf. Officers will not be paid cumulatively if they are certified in both. <br />b. It is expressly understood and agreed that this section shall be entitled to preemption <br />including but not limited to the provision of Sections 143.041 and 143.042 of the Texas Local <br />Government Code. <br />Section 8. Implementation. <br />It is expressly understood and agreed that the implementation and payment of the additional <br />compensation and pays provided herein may be delayed due to the City upgrading its payroll <br />program and procedures.
