<br />76 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Regular Meeting August 27, 1990 Page 4 <br /> <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, SETTING THE TAX RATE FOR THE 1990 TAX YEAR; LEVYING <br />TAXES FOR THE USE AND SUPPORT OF THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT OF <br />THE CITY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 1990, AND <br />ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 1991, PROVIDING A SINKING FUND FOR THE <br />RETIREMENT OF THE BONDED DEBT OF THE CITY, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />Mr. Plummer moved for adoption of the Ordinance on emergency and Mr. <br />Hart seconded the motion. Mr. Hart moved to amend the Ordinance in <br />section 1 to add 59.72 cents, in Section 2.A. to add .4582 cents and <br />in section 2.B. to add .1390 cents, and Mr. Plummer seconded the <br />motion, which passed unanimously. The Council voted unanimously for <br />adoption of the Ordinance. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration adoption of an Ordinance <br />on emergency, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE CITY BUDGET ORDINANCE FOR THE 1989-1990 <br />FISCAL YEAR (ORDINANCE 1989-38) TO PROVIDE FUNDING FOR ACTUAL <br />AND PROJECTED EXPENDITURES FOR THE CITY MANAGER, POLICE, <br />PLANNING, FINANCE, LEGAL AND PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENTS, <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />Ms. Kissler moved for adoption of the Ordinance on emergency and Mr. <br />Hernandez seconded the motion, which passed unanimously (Mr. Hart <br />not present to vote on this item). <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance <br />on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 2-126 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES TO <br />REQUIRE THE COMMISSION FOR WOMEN TO MEET AT LEAST NINE TIMES <br />PER YEAR RATHER THAN MONTHLY; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; <br />REPEALING ALL CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION <br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Ms. Kissler moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and <br />Mr. Guerra seconded the motion, which passed unanimously (Mr. Hart <br />not present to vote on this item). <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance <br />on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 29-111 AND 29-150 OF THE SAN MARCOS <br />CODE OF ORDINANCES BY ADDING A NO PARKING TOW-AWAY ZONE ON WOOD <br />STREET, PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; REPEALING ALL CONFLICTING <br />ORDINANCES; PROVIDING A PENALTY; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION AND <br />ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Moore moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and <br />Mr. Hernandez seconded the motion, which passed unanimously (Mr. <br />Hart not present to vote on this item). <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance <br />on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 29-110 OF THE SAN MARCOS CODE OF <br />ORDINANCES BY THE ADDITION OF STOP SIGNS; AMENDING SECTION <br />29-109 OF THE SAN MARCOS CODE OF ORDINANCES BY THE DELETION OF <br />YIELD SIGNS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; REPEALING ALL <br />CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; PROVIDING A PENALTY AND ESTABLISHING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Hernandez moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading <br />and Mr. Moore seconded the motion, which passed unanimously (Mr. <br />Hart not present to vote on this item). <br />
