Docusign Envelope ID: DA4FA5BF-D9AF-4543-AD49-B8F98E2726F6 <br /> Appendix A—Basis of Design <br /> Table 3-1 Anticipated Potable Water Service <br /> Flow Pressure <br /> (gpm) (psi) <br /> Normal Operation 20 35 <br /> Fire Suppression 1,500 20 <br /> The DB will consider the potential for internal plant reuse of treated wastewater to supplement <br /> potable water supplies. <br /> 3.8 Biosolids Treatment & Handling <br /> 3.8.1 General <br /> The DB will consider and propose design alternatives with excess capacity and equipment as the City <br /> has identified a primary need for redundancy of biosolids treatment and handling.The City has a <br /> preference for belt conveyers rather than screw augurs,and would prefer an overhead centrifuge with <br /> space for loading trailer underneath. <br /> Sludge from the City's existing wastewater treatment plant is disposed of at a certified landfill.This is <br /> currently managed through the City's existing contract with a third-party plant operator and the City <br /> has a preference for disposing of solids in a similar manner.The DB will consider and propose <br /> alternatives for biosolids storage with sufficient capacity to minimize the need to haul biosolids for <br /> disposal. <br /> The DB will consider and propose design alternatives for controlling odor at all plant components <br /> related to biosolid treatment and handling. <br /> 3.8.2 Biological Process <br /> The DB will consider and propose design alternatives for both aerobic and anaerobic digestion <br /> processes. <br /> 3.8.3 Dewatering Options <br /> The DB will consider and propose design alternatives that include the following non-exhaustive list of <br /> potential components: <br /> • TYPE TEX Centrifuge: Aldec G3 -sludge dewatering equipment I Alfa Laval <br /> • Belt Press: Dewatering.Thickening&Compost Equipment I BDP Industries <br /> • Sludge Press: Thickening and Dewatering-PW Tech <br /> 3.9 Plant Electrical <br /> 3.9.1 General <br /> Electrical services will be provided by Bluebonnet Electrical Coop (BEC).
