C. Product Install and Verification
The Vendor will:
1) Reformat and install software on City devices;
2) Install the server software;
3) Install and verify RDBMS software and reporting services;
4) Verify successful operation of server components;
5) Install and verify operation of mobile devices from PD office; and
6) Show the screens and defendant receipts to PD and courts for feedback
The typical duration for product install and verification is two days. The two largest risk factors
are setting up the City servers with the latest Operating System ("OS"); and completing all
applicable software/network settings.
Sign-off by the Project Owners Warren Zerr and Susie Garcia or their proxy to go or "no go"
from this phase to the next phase.
A Begin Pilot
1) Train the pilot police officers on system operation;
2) Continue making improvements and incorporating changes to ticket writers;
3) Ensure that the defendant receipt is complete and approved by the City;
4) Complete the Citation Detail report to look like the defendant's receipt;
5) Spend at least one day or more with officers writing `warnings' in the field;
6) Verify the data flow to the Court database;
7) Verify each field for the Court interface; and
8) Train the court officers on system interface error recognition.
This pilot phase is complete when the pilot officers are practicing with the technology. The
typical duration of this pilot phase is one week. The largest risk factor for the Project at this
stage is that most of the major portions of the project must be complete and the officers must
begin the pilot with the software as close to complete as possible so as not to have any false
starts.
Sign-off by the Project Owners Warren Zerr and Susie Garcia or their proxy to go or "no go"
from this phase to the next phase.
E. Operational Pilot
The Vendor will:
l) Closely monitor the data moving to and from the Court system;
2) Monitor the officers output as well as any requests they have for improvement;
3) Start finalizing the documentation and verify it with pilot police officers;
4) Verify documentation for the Court interface;
Brazos Technology, Hand Held Ticket Writer System Agreement
31
