<br />the donated 81.2:J: acres in the floodplain which will be dedicated to recreation and preservation of <br /> <br />environmentally unique land. Subsequent development will include a disc golf course; hike and <br /> <br />bike trails that will be linked to the overall planned Hays County Hike and Bike trail system and the <br /> <br />existing San Marcos River Corridor Hike and Bike Trail System; nature preserve and trails; picnic <br /> <br />areas; parking lot and restrooms. All facilities will be made accessible to the handicapped and <br /> <br />elderly. All new electrical and telephone lines will be placed underground. This project involves a <br /> <br />program to provide outdoor recreational facilities to the City of San Marcos and the rural citizens in <br /> <br />an area at least 20 miles surrounding the project site. <br /> <br />Metes and bounds for the property to be acquired has been prepared and is attached as the Alta Falls <br /> <br />Subdivision Master Plan. <br /> <br />The City of San Marcos will proceed with the Design and Development of Construction Plans and <br /> <br />Specifications for review by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, and the Texas Department of <br /> <br />Licensing and Regulation as the second phase this project. Upon approval of all reviews, the City of <br /> <br />San Marcos will bid out the construction of those portions of the work to be performed by <br /> <br />Contractor. It has been planned that City of San Marcos in-house labor with volunteer labor and <br /> <br />equipment will construct the trails, the grading, pavement of roads and parking lots.
