5. Source of Local Match and Relationship Between Other Federal or State Assistance The City of San Marcos will finance the local 50% share of the Project for this grant with the $467,000 appraised value of the donated 81.2:1: acres known as Lots 5,6, 7, 8, and 9 and $54,000 by the City of San Marcos through the sale of anticipated tax revenue bonds or from the general fund as directed by the City's Financial Director. There are no Federal grants or Federally funded work planned, anticipated, presently underway, or previously received for any elements concerning this project. The City of San Marcos has received previous grants :ITom the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for other Park Projects to include the land acquisition of the San Marcos Park and Wildlife Habitat, Phase I and IT, and the Regional Park Preserve, Phase 1. The City of San Marcos may apply, if necessary, for another grant to complete the work outlined in the Master Plan 6. Maintenance and Operation Agreement The City of San Marcos will operate and maintain the proposed facilities with the assistance of various organized public groups that will be using the facilities to provide recreational opportunities to their membership (open to all elements of the community without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin and/or handicap requirements. A "Cooperative Agreement" acceptable to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department will be prepared which will identify the operation and maintenance of the facilities relative to the use by the City of San Marcos and the other entities, if any. All facilities will be operated by the City of San Marcos, with assistance :ITom various public organized groups and assistance from the various interested groups in exchange for the non- PROGRAM NARRATIVE - Page 6 of7
