<br />33. <br />Regular Meeting November 10, 2003 Page 2 <br />on Thursday, November 20, 2003, at 7:00 p.m. at the San Marcos Activity <br />Center. 5) Dianne Wassenich provided the Council with the Central Texas <br />Trail Birding map. She stated San Marcos is now listed as a good birding <br />site. She also stated the Greater San Marcos Chamber of Commerce is <br />working on a Birding Festival. 6) Carol Peters provided written comments <br />to the Council. 7) Mike Dishman provided the Council with an explanation <br />and demonstration of differences between using a hatchet as a tool or <br />weapon. He stated the Legislature gave a tool with the new annexation <br />laws and some Cities have turned it into a weapon. He asked the Council <br />to deal with the residents of Subareas D and E with good faith. 8) Billy <br />McNabb thanked the Council for all their efforts. He stated portions of <br />Subareas D and E are similar to the Subareas the Council recently <br />disannexed. He encouraged the Council to review Subareas D and E. He <br />also stated there is a survey for the residents of this area. He stated <br />in most of the surveys which are completed, these residents do not feel <br />they are getting th~ir tax dollars' worth. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced the Staff Report. Mr. O'Leary reminded the <br />Council of the CAMPO Public Hearing scheduled for Monday, November 17, <br />2003, at 6:00 p.m. in Austin, Texas. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced <br />Human Services Advisory Board. <br />Jaramillo and Mr. Taylor moved <br />following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />for consideration one appointment to the <br />Ms. Narvaiz moved to appoint Margie <br />to appoint Brian Brennan. On roll call the <br /> <br />Jaramillo: <br /> <br />Narvaiz, Thomaides, Mihalkanin, Montoya and Diaz. <br /> <br />Brennan: <br /> <br />Habingreither and Taylor. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced for consideration one appointment to the <br />Convention and Visitors Bureau Board. Mr. Taylor moved to appoint Ben <br />Kvanli as the Tourist attraction owner/operator, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced for consideration three appointments to the <br />Sunset Advisory Commission. Ms. Narvaiz moved to appoint Lucy Gamez, <br />Mayor Habingreither moved to appoint Robert Vance and Mr. Taylor moved to <br />appoint Jim Green, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced for consideration one appointment to the <br />Human Development Commission. No nominations were received and this will <br />be rescheduled. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced for consideration one appointment to the <br />Zoning Board of Adjustments and Appeals. Mr. Mihalkanin moved to appoint <br />Larry Rasco and Mr. Montoya moved to appoint Dr. Randy Rogers. On roll <br />call the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />Rasco: <br /> <br />Thomaides and Mihalkanin. <br /> <br />Rogers: <br /> <br />Narvaiz, Habingreither, Montoya, Taylor and Diaz. <br />
