<br />lifelong learning Project <br />Program Narrative--page 5 <br /> <br />GOAl: <br /> <br />To train volunteer and EOC tutors to provide effective tutoring services to <br />oouJts with less than a twelfth grade education. <br /> <br />OBJECTIVES: To purchase a tutor training workshop on viœocassette and other tutor <br />training materials by November 30 I 1981. <br /> <br />To develop an in-service orientation packet for new tutors by December 3 t , <br />1987. <br /> <br />To hold three tutor training workshops 1n the Hbrary by August 31 , 1988. <br />To train 2S volunteer tutors by August 31, 1988. <br /> <br />GOAL: <br /> <br />To IJ) out into the community to pubHciZ8 services and resources avaHab1e <br />through the lifelong learning Project for adults with less than a twelfth grade <br />education. <br /> <br />OBJECTIVES: To visit and speak to ten community organizations, churches, clubs, or <br />agencies about services and materials available through the library by <br />August 3 1 , 1988. <br /> <br />To PrOOuce and distribute an informational flyer which wi11 publicize the <br />services and materials available at the Hbrary through the lifelong Learning <br />Project. <br /> <br />In orœr to measure our attainment of the project objectives, the library wi11 monitor <br />program attendance for all phases of the project. TutorswHt be required to Keep rec:orœ of <br />student progress, attendance and number of hours spent in tutoring sessions. Tutors who <br />are paid by the EOC wll1 be responsible for making weekly reports to their EOC supervisor. <br />They wil1 also be required to submit 6 monthly statistical and progress report to the Project <br />Coordinator. <br /> <br />The Project Coordinator wi11 be responsible for col1ectfng data on program attendance and <br />student progress. The Coordinator wm make monthly reports to be incorporated into the <br />Hbrary's genera) statistical reports. In aijition, the Public Services Supervisor and the <br />Project Coordinator wiu meet on a monthly basis to review progress toward our stated <br />goals. <br /> <br />IV. SERVICES <br /> <br />The lifelong Learning Project will have four major components: <br /> <br />I) an adult education pro;Jram which wiIJ proviœ free reading, writing, <br />math I English, and GED tutoring to the target population; <br />
