<br />L lfelong Learning Project <br />Program Narrative--page 7 <br /> <br />mental and physical health, and community resources and wi11 be geared taward the ð:1ult <br />with less than a twelfth graœ educatlon. The Project Coordinator wi11 be responsible for <br />developing, arranging, and pub1icizing these Jife ski11s workshops. Speakers for the <br />workshops wi11 be drawn from the community. Our objective is to offer three workshops <br />during the first year of the project. <br /> <br />The Jlfe sk Ills co11ectlon wi11 be developed and organized by members of the existing library <br />steff. The library a1re61:tf has e 1imited edult eduœtion col1ection which will be upgraded <br />and integrated into the new life skills collection. The collection will include materials for <br />adults at a111evels of education below the twelfth grade and wi11 include materials for adults <br />for whom Eng1ish is a second language. In ad:fition to GED and reading workbooks, the <br />coHection wHl include materials on resume writing, job hunting, personal finance, personal <br />health, and related topics. Recreational reading for adult new readers will also be provided. <br />Attractive displays wm be 00ne to promote the use of the co11ection. <br /> <br />The life skH1s collection wiH become ð permooent part of the generft11ibrary co11ection and <br />wH1 be accessible to a111ibrary patrons. library staff wi1l be traiœj in co11ection <br />development for this special col1ectlon. The Hbrary wlJ1 continue to maintain the coHectfon <br />after the grant funding per1oo is over. <br /> <br />VI. STAFFIN8 <br /> <br />The lifelong Learning Project wiIJ be staffed by the fo11ewing: <br />1) LIfelong Learning Project Coordinator <br /> <br />The Project Coordinator wiJI be a 20 hour per week position which wiJ1 be funded by <br />the grant and supervised by the Hbrary's PubHc Services SUpervisor. The <br />Coordinator wi11 be responsible for coordinating the adu1t education tutoring program, <br />the tutor training program, and the series ofJife skí11s workshops. Ajob description <br />for the Coordfnator may be found in Appendix D. <br /> <br />2) Pub11c Services Supervisor <br /> <br />The Pub11c Services Supervisor is a full time member of the library staff who wi11 <br />supervise the Proj eet Coordinator. She wi 11 also be involved in the œvelopment of the <br />Hfe ski11s collection. It is anticipated that she wi11 devote approximately flve hours <br />per week to the project. <br /> <br />3) Library Director <br /> <br />The Library Director wH1 supervise all project evaluations, audits, etc. She wH1 also <br />supervise the selection and ordering of materials, equIpment, and furniture purchased <br />with project funds. It is anticipated that she wi11 OOvote three hours per week to the <br />project. <br />
