<br />lifelong learning Project <br />Program Nsrrative--pege 8 <br /> <br />4) Educational OpportunítyCenter (EOC) Tutors <br /> <br />Approximately twenty hours per week of tutoring wiH be provided by tutors who wHl <br />be paid by the EOC, our cooperating agency. The EOC tutors wm be trained by the <br />Project Coordinator and will hold fræwalk-in tutoring hours at the library. <br /> <br />5) Volunteer Tutors <br /> <br />Approximately 25 volunteer tutors wm be recruited and trainaj by the Project <br />COOrdinator. The coordinator wm match students and tutors for compaUbll1ty. <br />Tutors will then work with stuœnts on an appointment and/or wall<- in basis. A job <br />description for tutors may be found in Appendix D. <br /> <br />6) Cataloging librarian <br /> <br />The Catðloging Librðriðn currently on stoff ot the librðry wi1l be responsible for <br />cataloging materials for the life skills collection. She wiIJ also supervise the <br />processing of these materials. It is anticipated that she wm spend approximately 40 <br />hours during the year working on the collection. <br /> <br />7} CatalOJing Assistant <br /> <br />The Cataloging Assistant currently on the library staff wiH be responsible for typing <br />and filing card sets for the me skilJs coJJection, typing book orders for the col1ection, <br />processing library materials, and providing other clerical support for the project. It <br />Is anticipated that she wi11 spend approximately 150 hours during the year on the <br />project. <br /> <br />8) Other library Staff <br /> <br />An the library staff who work: with the publIc will be orientaj to the special needs of <br />the target group. They wi11 be trained in the policies, procedures, services, and <br />materials œnnected with the project. Staff members wil1 play a vital role in <br />promoting use of these services and in encouraging these new patrons to become <br />Hfelong Ubrary users. <br /> <br />VII.ADVERTlSIN8 <br /> <br />Strong emphasis will be placed on advertising the lifelong learning Porject. It wiJI be 00ne <br />regular Iy and through a variety of means. Advertising wiJJ be mne for these purposes: <br /> <br />t) to recruit new volunteer tutors~ <br />2) to recruit new students; <br />3) to pubJicize the life skills workshops; ðJ1d <br />4) to publicize the Ufe s~ilJs collection. <br />
