1.2.4 Propose up to two (2) alternate alignments of new bicycle and pedestrian facilities based
on discussions with the City and TxState to connect existing facilities on eastern and western
ends of Sessom. Facilities will be designed to meet AASHTO and Americans with Disabilities
Act ("ADA") requirements.
1.2.5 Perform a drainage analysis that will analyze a drainage flood study prepared for the City
by Espey Engineers, and incorporate applicable elements into design.
1.2.6 Perform a hydrologic analysis for the existing roadway elements to include:
a) Determining drainage area boundaries for inlets, ditches and culverts;
b) Calculating runoff to each drainage element and preparing drainage area maps; and
c) Preparing drainage area maps.
1.2.7 Perform a hydraulic analysis for drainage elements to include:
a) Hydraulic design for each drainage element to determine if capacity is adequate; and
b) Determination of requirements for each element to improve capacity to capture flow.
1.2.8 Summarize required improvements to each drainage element and calculate the cost for
improvements. In addition, the Engineer will prepare a summary to include in the Preliminary
Design Report ("PDR") for recommended improvements.
1.2.9 Review outfall issues related to the San Marcos River and the Edwards Aquifer as
required. This task will be coordinated with environmental review of the Project.
1.2.10 Perform an intersection analysis at Peques Street and Sessoms to include:
a) Observation of existing traffic operations at the intersection of Peques Street and
Sessom;
b) Notations of operational problems, traffic patterns, parking, etc;
c) Perform turning movement counts in the AM (7-9 AM) and PM (4-6 PM) at the
intersection to document existing traffic data;
d) Perform capacity analysis and provide recommendations to improve level of service
and intersection operations; and
e) Perform bicycle/pedestrian analysis of proposed improvements.
1.2.11 Provide preliminary utility coordination to include:
a) Identification of utility companies from visual markers and request as-builts from
utility providers to locate utilities;
b) Identification of potential conflicts during preliminary design of drainage
improvements, intersection realignment, and spot repair improvements.
KBR-Sessom Drive Roadway Improvements Agreement
4
