CITY OF SAN MARCOS

RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR ELECTRIC SERVICE

Disputed Bills

When a customer believes that the amount of any bill rendered by
the City for service of electricity is in error, the customer
should:

(1)

request an explanation of the bill from the electric
utility office of the City and if this does not resolve
the matter,

request, in writing, an investigation of the matter,
setting forth all information relative to the dispute.

(2)

The City will investigate the matter promptly and com-
municate, in writing, its findings to the customer and
refund and amount paid by the customer in accordance
with its findings. Any balance still remaining will be
due immediately. If the customer is still not satis-
fied, a complaint can be filed with the Electric util-
lity Board of the city. Should this occur, only the
amount described above shall be required during the in-
vestigation of the complaint or for 60 days whichever
is less.

The ci ty will not discontinue service nor will the
customer's credi t be impaired during such investiga-
tion. The customer does not waive any rights he may
have by following the procedure set out above.
