CITY OF SAN MARCOS DISTRIBUTION LINE EXTENSION POLICY APPENDIX F SPECIAL FACILITIES The city will extend only those facilities which are deemed necessary to render service in accordance with the Tariff schedules. Where a customer requires facilities which are in addition to, or in substitution for, the standard facili- ties which the City would normally install, the extra cost thereof shall be paid by the customer. NON-STANDARD AND CUSTOMER CONVENIENCE SERVICE - The customer shall pay for any special installation necessary to meet a particular requirement for service other than that normally provided. Alternate voltage levels, tight voltage regula- tion, minimum line noise, and other special requirements shall be the responsibility of the customer. The customer may be required to share in a portion of the estimated con- struction cost for extending a service where such service is not normally provided, or for additional meter or transfor- mer installations to provide separate electric service such as to x-ray machines. INTERMITTENT LOADS - The City reserves the right to require that the customer furnish and install any suitable or spe- cial equipment necessary to reasonably limit the adverse effects created by customer-owned equipment such as process furnaces, arc welders, resistance welders, and large motors. EXCESS CONSTRUCTION COST DETERMINATION - In a situation where a customer requires electrical facilities in excess of that normally furnished by the City, the customer may be re- quired to pay the ci ty for the excess construction cost. The City, at its sole option, may reduce such payment when the estimated annual revenues (derived from base rates, exclusive the fuel) anticipated from the proposed facility generate the required margins to cover the total cost of constructing the requested facilities.
