SAN MARCOS ELECTRIC UTILITY ELECTRIC TARIFF ISSUED BY: CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS SHEET NO. EFFECTIVE DATE: REVISION NO. APPLICATION DEPOSITS RATE SCHEDULE - DEPOSITS Each applicant for service, excluding government agencies, will be required to make a cash deposit with the City to estab- lish or re-establish credit before service will be rendered. However, subject to these rules, an applicant shall not be required to pay a deposit: 1. 2. If the applicant is applying for a similar service at a different place and has been a customer of the San Marcos Electric Utility or its predecessor at one loca- tion wi thin the last twelve (12) months and has had service at that location for a minimum of three (3) years and during the last twenty~four (24) consecutive ~onths was not delinquent in payment of any bill. If it. is a new applicant for service under the large general service rate (500 kW or greater) and it pro- vides the San Marcos Electric Utility an irrevocable letter of credi t from a bank or lending institution approved by the City in the amount equivalent to a deposit calculated according to AMOUNT OF DEPOSIT below. Such letter of credit must be approved by the City Attorney and must contain a provision that any litigation concerning the letter of credit must be filed in Hays County, Texas. AMOUNT OF DEPOSIT The required deposit for residential and general services customers shall be the greater of (1) (2) $ 50.00 or an amount equivalent to one-sixth (1/6) of either the estimated annual billings to that service location or an estimated annual billing to similar dwellings or services. The City may require a deposit sufficient to reasonably pro- tect against the assumed risk of temporary, weekend, or personal service, provided such policy is applied in a uniform and nondis- criminatory manner.
