<br />e. <br /> <br />Transfers - An employee who transfers laterally <br /> <br />from one position to another position in the same <br /> <br />pay range shall continue to receive the same <br /> <br />salary and shall retain the same eligibility date <br /> <br />for performance increases. <br /> <br />f. <br /> <br />Demotions - An employee who is demoted from one <br />position to another position having a lower pay <br /> <br />range shall be compensated at a rate within the <br />lower range as determined by the Department <br /> <br />Director and the Director of Personnel with <br /> <br />approval of the City Manager or Assistant City <br /> <br />Manager. <br /> <br />All demotions require a reduction in <br /> <br />salary unless otherwise approved by the City <br />Manager or Assistant City Manager. <br /> <br />g. <br /> <br />Maximum Rate of Pay - An employee shall not be <br />paid above the maximum rate established in the <br /> <br />approved salary schedule, except if a job was <br />downgraded in the reclassification process or if <br /> <br />there is a change in the labor market. <br /> <br />C. <br /> <br />METHODS OF PAYMENT <br /> <br />A pay period is completed every two (2) weeks and ends at <br /> <br />midnight the Friday prior to the next Friday payday. <br /> <br />A <br /> <br />pay period is comprised o~ eighty (80) hours. <br /> <br />If a <br /> <br />payday falls on a holiday, paychecks will be issued on <br /> <br />-27- <br />
