<br />be approved by the Department Director and the <br /> <br />Director of Personnel on a case by case basis. <br /> <br />A physician must specify what will constitute <br /> <br />light duty. <br /> <br />i. <br /> <br />Payment for Sick Leave (Sick Bank) at Termination <br />- The following is the policy for all employees <br /> <br />hired prior to September 27, 1980: <br /> <br />( 1) <br /> <br />The number of sick days that the employee <br />has accrued will be computed into a dollar <br /> <br />figure based on the employee's hourly wage <br />at the time this policy was approved <br /> <br />(December 18, 1984). <br /> <br />This dollar figure <br /> <br />will be the total payment for sick leave <br />the employee will receive at termination <br /> <br />(maximum of ninety (90) days). <br /> <br />(2) <br /> <br />The employee will continue to accrue sick <br />leave; however, the "new" sick leave (sick <br /> <br />leave earned after December 18, 1984) will <br />not be paid upon termination. <br /> <br />(3) <br /> <br />If the employee becomes ill, he/she will <br /> <br />first use the "new" sick leave discussed in <br /> <br />#2 above. <br /> <br />If he/she uses all of the "new" <br /> <br />sick leave then he/she will begin to use <br /> <br />the leave accrued prior to December 18, <br /> <br />1984. <br /> <br />-50- <br />
