<br />G. <br /> <br />INJURY LEAVE <br /> <br />Fire and Police personnel will be compensated according <br />to state law for injuries occurring in the course of <br /> <br />employment. <br /> <br />All other employees will adhere to the <br /> <br />following policy upon incurring an on-the-iob injury: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />The City will pay the employee's full salary for the <br />first seven (7) calendar days, whether that employee <br /> <br />is permanent, probationary, full or part~time. <br /> <br />(Every injury, no matter how minor, must be reported <br />to the Risk, Benefits, Safety Manager within 24 hours <br /> <br />of occurrence by the injured employee's supervisor.) <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />If the employee must be absent from work for more <br />than seven (7) calendar days, Worker's Compensation <br /> <br />will pay either 66 2/3% of the employee's full <br /> <br />salary, or a set amount (whichever is less). <br />City will provide the difference between the <br /> <br />The <br /> <br />employee's regular pay and Workers' Compensation. <br /> <br />The combined total of the City paycheck and the <br /> <br />Workers' Compensation check shall not exceed the <br /> <br />employee's regular salary. <br /> <br />The City of San Marcos <br /> <br />does not reduce an employee's pay during the injury <br /> <br />leave, therefore, it is mandatory that any Workers' <br />Compensation checks received must be signed over to <br /> <br />the City of San Marcos and given to the Risk, <br /> <br />Benefit, Safety Manager. <br /> <br />The amount of each check <br /> <br />-52- <br />
