<br />or the Texas state Guard will be eligible for <br /> <br />military duty leave without pay. <br /> <br />At the time of <br /> <br />military discharge., the employee shall be restored to <br />the same (or similar) position of employment that <br /> <br />he/she held at the beginning of the military duty <br /> <br />leave. <br /> <br />Although the employee does not accrue sick <br /> <br />and vacation leave while on military duty leave, <br />he/she does not lose any leave accumulated before <br /> <br />taking military leave. <br /> <br />To qualify for re-employment, <br /> <br />the employee must make written application within <br />ninety (90) days of discharge or separation from the <br /> <br />service. <br /> <br />L. <br /> <br />SPECIAL LEAVE <br /> <br />The City Manager may authorize special leave of absence <br />with or without pay for up to three (3) months in one (1) <br /> <br />year for such reasons as: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Extended jury duty or witnessing in court, (See <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Section VIII-I COURT LEAVE). <br />Any purpose that may be deemed appropriate by the <br /> <br />City Manager. <br /> <br />M. <br /> <br />BEREAVEMENT LEAVE <br /> <br />With the approval of the Department Director, bereavement <br />leave with full pay, up to a maximum of three (3) working <br /> <br />days, shall be granted employees in the case of death in <br /> <br />the immediate family. <br /> <br />Immediate family shall be defined <br /> <br />-56- <br />
