relative location of the collection system and the potential discharge locations. The Engineer
will complete this initial screening level analysis utilizing a Geospatial Information Systems
("GIS") evaluation of readily available data. The results of this initial screening will be used to
reduce the identified alternative sites to a maximum of four (4) potential sites for further
evaluation.
1.5.2 Provide the City with an electronic copy of the technical memorandum documenting
initial screening evaluation results.
1.6 TASK 6 - ENVIRONMENTAL EVALUATION
The Engineer will:
1.6.1 Conduct an initial environmental screening of the four sites identified for further study
based on:
a) readily available records, including historical and current aerial photography;
b) USGS topographic quadrangle maps;
c) soil survey data; and
d) the National Wetlands Inventory maps associated with the USGS topographic maps.
This screening will assist in determining a recommended site as opposed to an actual
environmental assessment of each site. The Engineer will conduct this survey from the office
and this task will not include any field visits to the site.
1.6.2 Once a recommended site has been identified and accepted by the City, the Engineer
will conduct an environmental assessment to identify whether there are any potential fatal flaws
associated with the recommended site. The Engineer will conduct the environmental assessment
in accordance with Texas Water Development Board ("TWDB") Standards in the event potential
TWDB funding of the Project, becomes available to the City.
1.6.3 Provide the City with electronic copies of the following deliverables:
a) Technical memorandum documenting environmental screening results of the four
potential WWTP sites;
b) Technical memorandum documenting the environmental assessment of the
recommended site
1.7 TASK 7 - ALTERNATIVE SITE EVALUATION
The Engineer will:
1.7.1 Conduct an evaluation of the four potential sites using criteria established in the Site
Evaluation Criteria Workshop. Anticipated criteria may include items such as:
a) Proximity to the collection system;
W W WTP Site Location Assessment - CH2M Hill
6
