Councilman Hyatt suggested a <br />golf course. Mr. Arredondo moved monies be allocated for <br />construction of a fence and entrance to the property. <br />Mr. James seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br />Councilmen Hyatt and Breihan were opposed to a rifle range. <br />By common consent, the rifle range proposal was taken off <br />the list. Mr. Hyatt moved all proposals from the Parks <br />and Recreation Board be accepted except the rifle range <br />proposal. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion which passed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Cavazos introduced for consideration repair of the <br />library roof. Mr. Royal Dunlap informed the Council that <br />Ray Kotowski, Director of Public Works, and Jack Major, <br />Maintenance Service Supervisor, had examined the roof at <br />the library. In addition, a roofer from San Antonio had <br />also been contacted. The anticipated cost of repair would <br />be approximately $11,000 to $12,000. $8,500 had been <br />allocated for this repair earlier and Ms. Eden Moseley, <br />Library Director, suggested the difference of approximately <br />$3,500 be taken from books and materials account set up <br />under this year's Revenue Sharing Entitlement. Mr. Kotowski <br />and Mr. Dunlap suggested bids be taken for repair of the <br />leaking roof. Mr. Hyatt moved bids be taken. Mr. Breihan <br />seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Cavazos read the caption of a resolution as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO <br />SUBMIT AN APPLICATION FOR COMMUNITY <br />DEVELOPMENT FUNDS FOR ACTION YEAR <br />FIVE PURSUANT TO THE HOUSING AND <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ACT OF 1974. <br /> <br />Mr. Hansen moved the resolution be adopted. Mr. James <br />seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />At 8:15 p.m., Council recessed into executive session to <br />discuss pending litigation on motion of Mr. Hyatt and second <br />of Mr. Hansen. At 8:50 p.m., Council reconvened from <br />executive session on motion of Mr. Hyatt and second of <br />Mr. James. Mayor Cavazos informed the public that the Council <br />had discussed cases of,Henry Kyle and Mrs. D. B. Thomas. <br />Mr. Hyatt moved to withdraw the appeal of the D. B, Thomas <br />case.
