<br />I <br /> <br />I. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />96 <br /> <br />regular meeting <br /> <br />november 5, 1979 <br /> <br />page three <br /> <br />The City Secretary read an ordinance having the following caption: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 29-152, <br />ENTITLED "IMPOUNDMENT OF STANDING OR PARKED <br />VEHICLES", OF ARTICLE VII, ENTITLED "STOPPING, <br />STANDING AND pARKING" OF CHAPTER 29, ENTITLED <br />"TRAFFIC" OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, BY ADDING TWO LOCATIONS AT WHICH <br />POLICE ARE AUTHORIZED TO REMOVE VEHICLES AND <br />DETAILING NOTICE REQUIREMENTS; AMENDING SECTION 29-l23, <br />ENTITLED "NO PARKING ANYTIME" OF ARTICLE V, ENTITLED <br />"TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES" OF CHAPTER 29, ENTITLED <br />"TRAFFIC" OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, BY DELETING ONE LOCATION AT <br />WHICH PARKING IS PROHIBITED AT ALL TIMES AND ADDING <br />TWO LOCATIONS AT WHICH PARKING SHALL BE PROHIBITED <br />AT ALL TIMES AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />During the reading of the ordinance, Mr. Breihan and Mr. Tenorio <br />pointed out several discrepancies in Section 29-l23 regarding no <br />parking zones. Staff was directed to correct the ordinance and <br />bring it back for future amendment. Mr. Sutton moved the ordinance <br />as read be adopted as an emergency. Mr. Hyatt seconded the motion <br />which passed uanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of a resolution as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, CASTING VOTES FOR DIRECTORS <br />OF THE BOARD OF THE APPRAISAL DISTRICT OF HAYS COUNTY, <br />TEXAS, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF SAID CITY <br />TO SUBMIT SAID RESOLUTION TO THE COUNTY CLERK <br />OF SAID COUNTY. <br /> <br />Mr. Hyatt moved to cast all votes held by the City of San Marcos <br />for Dr. Robert Stevenson and that the ordinance be adopted on <br />that basis. Mr. Sutton seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption~of a resolution as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ENCOURAGING THE DESIGNATION <br />OF RANCH ROAD l2-32 AND HIGHWAY 1623 AS STATE <br />HIGHWAY 80 TO REACH FROM LULING THROUGH SAN <br />MARCOS AND BLANCO TO STONEWALL, TEXAS; AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Hansen moved to amend the resolution by designating that the City <br />request the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation <br />to hold a public hearing to redesignate Ranch Road 12-32 as State <br />Highway 80 and that the resolutiofi be adopted. Mr. Breihan seconded <br />the motion which passed unanimously. The City Manager was directed <br />to arrange a meeting between the Mayor and Hays County Judge Walter <br />Burnett to discuss the proposed pUblic hearing. <br /> <br />The City Secretary read an ordinance in its entirety having the <br />fOllowing caption: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE PRICE AND <br />CONDITIONS OF THE SALE BY THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, OF ONE-HALF OF PARCEL 12-2, DESCRIBED <br />FURTHER BY METES AND BOUNDS ATTACHED HERETO, <br />LOCATED WITHIN THE TEX. A-6, NEIGHBORHOOD DEVELOPMENT <br />PROGRAM AREA, TO KOHUT & COLE; AUTHORIZING THE <br />MAYOR TO EXECUTE A WARRANTY DEED TO KOHUT & COLE; <br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. James moved to approve the ordinance on first reading. Mr. Tenorio <br />seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br />
