<br />111 <br /> <br />regular meeting <br /> <br />november 26, 1979 <br /> <br />page five <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Gonzalez also presented a slide and photograph display of sanitation <br />collection equipment and the landfill operation as well as an outline <br />for proposed improvements in the sanitation department. That report <br />is on file in the sanitation department records of the city. With <br />regard to the sanitation collection system, Mr. Gonzalez told the <br />Council that some refuse was being hauled in open City trucks in <br />violation of City standards and that the situation would be remedied <br />in the very near future. Mr. Gonzalez also told the Council that the <br />requirement that all garbage and refuse be hauled in closed containers <br />or trucks would be strictly enforced. Mr. Tenorio moved to schedule <br />a work session for Tuesday, December 11, 1979 at 5:30 p.m. to discuss <br />the direction the City should take in locating future landfill sites. <br />The City Manager recommended that the Council refrain from discussion <br />of specific proposed sites at the work session. Mr. Tenorio concurred. <br />Mr. Cavazos seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Tenorio moved to schedule a special meeting for Tuesday, December <br />ll, 1979 at 7:30 p.m. to consider third reading of the Utility rates <br />ordinance. The second reading will be held on Monday, December 10th. <br />Mr. Hyatt seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />II <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration requests for permits to <br />temporarily place mobile homes. Mr. Cavazos moved to approve a request <br />by Jose Loya to place a mobile home on Lot 75, Block 9 of,the Westover <br />Addition located on Delmar Street. Mr. James seconded the motion which <br />passed unanimously. Mr. Hyatt moved to approve a request by Mrs. D. <br />B. Thomas to place a mobile home on Lot 43, Block 1 of the Rio Vista <br />Terrace Addition located near the intersection of the old Martindale <br />Road and IH 35. Mr. Tenorio seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br />Mr. Hyatt moved to approve a request by Ignacio Medina to place a,,:mobile <br />home on Lot 80 of the A. M. Ramsay Addition located at 310 Second St. <br />Mr. Cavazos seconded the motion which passed unanimously. Mr. Cavazos <br />moved to approve a request by Cranz E. Greenwood to place a mobile home <br />on Lot 7, Block 5 of the D. H. Combs Addition, located on Center Street. <br />Mr. Hyatt seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />At 10:26 p.m. the Council recessed to executive session on motion of <br />Mr. James and second of Mr. Tenorio. The meeting reconvened at 10:47 p.m. <br />on motion of Mr. Cavazos and second of Mr. Hyatt. <br /> <br />The Mayor reported that the Council had discussed personnel and <br />pending litigation. Mr. James moved to authorize counsel for the City <br />to participate in settlement negotiations pertaining to litigation <br />currently pending. Mr. Hyatt seconded the motion which passed unanimously <br />Mr. James then moved to authorize the City Attorney to pursue retention <br />of special counsel to assist the City in litigation currently pending. <br />Mr. Hyatt seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at <br />of Mr. Breihan. <br /> <br />10:50 ,~. on motion of Mr. Cavazos and second <br /> <br />'~tl~ <br />(John A.
