<br />regular meeting, apri1 9, 1973 <br /> <br />page <br /> <br />.29 <br /> <br />Mr. King moved the ordinance be approved on first reading. <br />Dr. Tauch seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Edward Tarbutton came before the Council to request that the <br />Public Hearing on the requested change in zoning of part of <br />lot 6, Block 20 in the San Marcos Addition be reopened. The <br />Mayor complied with Mr. Tarbutton's request. Mr. Tarbutton, in <br />requesting the zoning change, stated that the Planning and zoning <br />Commission had recommended approval of the change. There was no <br />one to speak against the change. The Mayor declared the Public <br />Hearing closed. <br /> <br />Mayor Etheredge introduced an ordinance and read the caption as <br />follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH <br />REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF STRUCTURES, <br />BUILDINGS AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY <br />CHANGING THE ZONING OF PART OF LOT 6, BLOCK 20 IN THE <br />SAN MARCOS ADDITION, LOCATED ON HOPKINS STREET, FROM <br />"c" (COMMERCIAL) TO "C-2" (COMMERCIAL). <br /> <br />Councilman Cunningham moved the ordinance be approved on first <br />reading. Dr. Tauch seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The City Manager stated that the Department of Housing and Urban <br />Development had reviewed the plans for the Rio Vista Swimming Poo1- <br />Park Project as submitted by the architects, and had given its approval. <br />Mr. Yarbrough moved to authorize the advertisement for bids for <br />construction of the swimming pool. Mr. King seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration the contract with Aquarena, <br />Incorporated, for the lease of the murnicipal golf course. Dr. Tauch <br />requested that the contract be amended to provide for monthly <br />reports of income and annual audit to be furnished the City, and <br />moved approval of the contract, as amended. The motion was seconded <br />by Councilman DeLa Rosa, and passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced a resolution which, as explained by the <br />City Manager, authorizes the signatures of the City Manager, Mayor, <br />Director of Finance and City Treasurer on all checks, drafts, <br />notes or orders drawn against the city's account with the First <br />National Bank of San Marcos. Mr. Yarbrough moved the Resolution <br />be approved. Mr. DeLa Rosa seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously. The Resolution is attached as a part of the Minutes. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Yarbrough and second of Councilman King, <br />the regular meeting scheduled for May 28, 1973, was rescheduled <br />for May 29, 1973, at the regular time and meeting place. <br /> <br />On motion of Mr. King and second of Dr. Tauch, the Order Calling <br />for the Special Run-off Election on May 1, 1973, was amended to <br />designate Mr. Leonard Fielder Presiding Judge for Precinct #8. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced an ordinance and read the caption as follows: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH <br />REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, <br />STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY <br />CHANGING THE ZONING OF APPROXIMATELY 1.5 ACRES IN THE <br />COLLEGE HEIGHTS ADDITION, FRONTING 243.92 ON LAMAR AVENUE, <br />254 FEET IN DEPTH OUT OF THE T.J. CHAMBERS SURVEY, FROM <br />"R-l" (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) TO "C" (MULTIFAMILY). <br /> <br />Dr. Tauch moved the ordinance be approved on second reading. <br />Mr. King seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br />
