<br />Dr. Tauch moved the Ordinance be approved on first reading.
<br />Mr. Flares seconded the motion. Mr. DeLa Rosa asked for
<br />consideration of Mr. ,Reese's objection, especially the con-
<br />tention that the Ranch Road 12/Sessom Drive intersection was
<br />hazardous. The City Manager explained that it would be neces-
<br />sary for the Texas Highway Department to alleviate the problem
<br />on Ranch Road 12. On roll call, the motion to approve the
<br />Ordinance on first reading was unanimously approved.

<br />Mayor Etheredge opened a public hearing to consider a request
<br />for a change in zoning of Lots 418 and 419, Block 16 out of
<br />the Westover Addition, located on Earle Street, from "R-l" to
<br />"R-2". Bill Doherty was present to represent the applicant,
<br />Anna Garth Meyers. There was no objection to the change. The
<br />Mayor closed the public hearing and read the caption of an
<br />Ordinance as follows:

<br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH
<br />REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS,
<br />STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY
<br />CHANGING THE ZONING OF LOTS 418 AND 419, BLOCK 16 IN THE
<br />WESTOVER ADDITION, LOCATED ON EARLE STREET, FROM "R-l"
<br />(SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) TO "R-2" (DUPLEX).
<br />
<br />Dr. Tauch moved the Ordinance not be approved, saying that he
<br />felt the lot s~ze requirements for construction of duplexes
<br />needed revision. Councilmen discussed the matter. Realtor
<br />Cliff Nieland stated that he understood that the plans for the
<br />proposed duplexes called for each to be on a 100 foot lot.
<br />Dr. Tauch withdrew his motion, and moved to table the Ordinance
<br />until the lots had been replatted. Mr. Flores seconded the
<br />motion, and on roll call, the following vote was recorded:

<br />The Mayor opened a public hearing to consider a request for a
<br />change in zoning of Lots 2 and 3, Block I, Benito Cruz Land,
<br />located at 305 Tampico Street, from "D" to "C-2". Mr. Arturo
<br />Torres, applicant, was present to request the change. Manuel
<br />Castillo, jr., came forth with a petition from residents of
<br />Wallace Addition requesting the eouncil consider rezoning the
<br />entire area "R-l" since it was mainly a residential area and
<br />increased traffic due to added businesses in the neighborhood
<br />would be hazardous. The Mayor declared the public hearing
<br />closed and read the caption of an Ordinance as follows:
