<br />I ~~ <br /> <br />regular meeting, april 23, 1973 <br /> <br />page four <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced an Ordinance and read the caption as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH <br />REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, <br />STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY <br />CHANGING THE ZONING OF PART OF LOT 6, BLOCK 20 IN THE <br />SAN MARCOS ADDITION, LOCATED ON HOPKINS STREET, FROM "c" <br />(COM[.1ERCIAL) TO "C-2" (COMMERCIAL). <br /> <br />Mr. Flores moved the Ordinance be approved on second reading. <br />Mr. Cunningham seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced an Ordinance and read the caption as follows: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT QRDINANCE WHICH <br />REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, <br />STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY <br />CHANGING THE ZONING OF A 70 X 135 FOOT PARCEL OF LAND OUT <br />OF THE T.J. CHAMBERS SURVEY, LOCATED ON THE SOUTHEAST <br />CORNER OF RANCH R9AD 12 AND WEST HOLLAND STREET, FROM <br />"P-2" (PUBLIC USE) TO "c" (COMMERCIAL). <br /> <br />Mr. Flores moved the Ordinance be approved on second reading. <br />Dr. Tauch seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced an Ordinance and read the caption as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO PLACEMENT FOR COLLECTION <br />THEREFROM AND REMOVAL THEREAFTER OF GARBAGE AND TRASH <br />CANS; AMENDING SECTION 12-5 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES <br />OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ENTITLED "PLACEMENT <br />FOR COLLECTION", BY DENOMINATING THE PRESENT SECTION <br />AS "a", AND BY ADDING A NEW SECTION "!:>" GOVERNING THE <br />REMOVAL OF GARBAGE AND TRASH CANS AFTER COLLECTION <br />THEREFROM. <br /> <br />Dr. Tauch moved the Ordinance be approved on second reading. <br />Mr. Yarbrough seconded the motion. Mr. DeLa Rosa objected to <br />the absence of any regulatory powers in the Ordinance. <br />Mr. Flores concurred. Mr. Yarbrough said that he felt the <br />intention of the Ordinance to eliminate the congestion of <br />garbage on the streets was desirable, and that if thaterms of <br />the Ordinance worked a hardship on any citizens, such cases <br />should be handled individually. Mr. Flores agreed to vote for <br />the Ordinance, but said that if it proved unworkable in six <br />months, he would ask to have it repealed. CHAMBERS SURVEY, <br />FROM "R-l" (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) TO "D" (MULTIFAMILY). <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Yarbrough moved the Ordinance be approved on third and final <br />reading. Mr. Flores seconded the motion.
