<br />5t{; <br /> <br />regular meeting, may 14, 1973 <br /> <br />page two <br /> <br />The Mayor opened a public hearing to consider a request for a <br />change in zoning of 1/2 of Block 31 in the Victory Gardens <br />Second Addition, located at 814 Guadalupe Street, from "c" to <br />"C-2". Mr. Gonzalo Gonzales was present to request the change. <br />Mr. Darrel Renfro, operator of an adjacent business, a drive-in, <br />objected to the change since he felt the combination of businesses <br />would be bad. The Mayor closed the public hearing and read the <br />caption of an ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH <br />REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, <br />STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY <br />CHANGING THE ZONING OF ONE-HALF OF BLOCK 31 IN THE VICTORY <br />GARDENS SECOND ADDITION, LOCATED AT 814 GUADALUPE STREET, <br />FROM "C" (COMMERCIAL) TO "C-2" (COMMERCIAL). <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Councilman Cunningham moved the Ordinance be approved on first <br />reading. Mr. Flores seconded the motion. Councilman King said <br />that the dense flow of traffic on Guadalupe Street, and the <br />fact that the drive-in was a gathering place for young people <br />were his objections to the change. Dr. Tauch pointed out that <br />no objections had been made by residential property owners, and <br />that the Planning and Zoning Commission had recommended approval <br />of the change. On roll call, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Cunningham, DeLa Rosa, Dibrell, Etheredge, Flores, <br />Tauch <br /> <br />NAY: King <br /> <br />The Mayor opened a public hearing to consider a request for a <br />change in zoning of the lot located on the corner of Coers Drive <br />and Ranch Road 12 (100 Coers Drive) and the lot directly behind <br />100 Coers Drive, facing Coers Drive, from "R-l" to "C". Francis <br />Graham, applicant, was present to request the change. There was <br />no objection. The Mayor declared the public hearing closed and <br />read the caption of an ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH <br />REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, <br />STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY <br />CHANGING THE ZONING OF A LOT LOCATED ON THE CORNER OF <br />COERS DRIVE AND RANCH ROAD 12 AND THE LOT DIRECTLY BEHIND <br />100 COERS DRIVE, FACING COERS (SEE METES AND BOUNDS ATTACHED) <br />FROM "R-l" (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) TO "c" (COMMERCIAL). <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. King moved the Ordinance be approved on first reading. <br />Dr. Tauch seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor opened a public hearing to consider a request for a <br />change in zoning of Lot 117 in the Park Addition, located at <br />801 Chestnut Street, from "C" to "C-2". The applicant was not <br />present, nor were any persons in opposition to the change. <br />The Mayor declared the public hearing closed. Mr. Flores moved <br />the request be tabled until the applicant was present to discuss <br />the request. Mr. King seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor opened a public hearing to consider a request for a <br />change in zoning of 2.775 acres of land out of the J.M. veramendi <br />League No. Two, located on Loop 82, from "M" and "c" to "C-2". <br />Garland Stokes was present to request the change. There were <br />no objections to the zoning change. The Mayor closed the hearing I <br />and read the caption of an ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH <br />REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, <br />STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY <br />CHANGING THE ZONING OF 2.775 ACRES OF LAND, BEING A PORTION <br />OF J.M. VERAMENDI LEAGUE NUMBER TWO, LOCATED ON LOOP 82, <br />FROM "c" (COMMERCIAL) AND "M" (MIXED) TO "C-2" (COMMERCIAL). <br /> <br />Mr. King moved the Ordinance be approved on first reading. <br />Mr. Flores seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />
