regular meeting, may 14, 1973 page three ~ :) 1 The Mayor opened a public hearing to consider a request for a change in zoning of Blocks 37 and 38 in the Victory Gardens Second Addition, from "c" to "C-2". Jesse Gomez, treasurer for La Sociedad Cuauhtemoc (applicant), was present to request the change. There were no objections. The Mayor closed the public hearing and read the caption of an ordinance as follows: I AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF BLOCKS 37 AND 38 IN THE VICTORY GARDENS SECOND ADDITION, LOCATED ON THAT TRACT OF LAND BOUNDED BY NIMITZ, HINES AND KNOX STREETS, FROM "c" (COMMERCIAL) TO "C-2" (COMMERCIAL). Dr. Tauch moved the Ordinance be approved on first reading. Mr. Flores seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Mayor introduced a Follow-up Order authorizing the disbursement of Certificates of Obligation for construction of the Police and Courts Building. It is attached as a part of these Minutes. Councilman King moved the Order be approved. The motion was seconded the Dr. Tauch and Passed unanimously. The Mayor introduced an ordinance and read the caption as follows: AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE PRICE AND CONDITIONS OF THE SALE BY THE URBAN RENEWAL AGENCY OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, OF PARCEL *14-D (SEE LEGAL READING), LOCATED WITHIN THE JUAN VERAMENDI, PROJECT NDP, TEX. A-6, TO JOSE S. GARCIA, AN INDIVIDUAL HOMEOWNER. Mr. King moved the Ordinance be approved on first reading. Mr. Flores seconded the motion. Albert Sierra, representing the Urban Renewal Agency of San Marcos, explained that Mr. Garcia planned to construct a single family residence on the property. On roll call, the vote was unanimous to approve the Ordinance on first reading. I The Mayor introduced an ordinance and read the caption as follows: AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING AN ALLEY BEGINNING AT THE TWO INSIDE BACK CORNERS OF LOTS 4 AND 5 BETWEEN COLORADO AND HUTCHISON STREETS AND PARALLEL TO BOTH MOON AND WATER STREETS, SUCH ALLEY BEING LOCATED IN BLOCK *21 OF THE ORIGINAL TOWN OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS; AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AND DELIVER QUITCLAIM DEED RELINQUISHING ALL RIGHT, TITLE, AND INTEREST OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS IN SAID ALLEY TO THE URBAN RENEWAL AGENCY OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, OF REAL PROPERTY ADJACENT THERETO. Mr. King moved the Ordinance be approved on first reading. Mr. Flores seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Mayor opened a public hearing to consider an ordinance approving the Urban Renewal Plans and the feasibility of relocation for Neighborhood Development Program, No. Tex. A-6. Tim SchUltz, Executive Director of the Agency, was present to discuss the plans with Councilmen. There were no objections voiced against passage of the Ordinance. The Mayor declared the public hearing closed and read the caption of the Ordinance as follows: I AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE URBAN RENEWAL PLANS AND THE FEASIBILITY OF RELOCATION FOR NEIGHBORHOOD DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM, NO. TEX. A-6. Councilman King moved the Ordinance be approved on first reading. Dr. Tauch seconded the. motion., which passed unanimously.
