<br />regular meeting, may 14, 1973 <br /> <br />page three <br /> <br />~ <br />:) 1 <br /> <br />The Mayor opened a public hearing to consider a request for <br />a change in zoning of Blocks 37 and 38 in the Victory Gardens <br />Second Addition, from "c" to "C-2". Jesse Gomez, treasurer <br />for La Sociedad Cuauhtemoc (applicant), was present to request <br />the change. There were no objections. The Mayor closed the <br />public hearing and read the caption of an ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH <br />REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, <br />STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY <br />CHANGING THE ZONING OF BLOCKS 37 AND 38 IN THE VICTORY <br />GARDENS SECOND ADDITION, LOCATED ON THAT TRACT OF LAND <br />BOUNDED BY NIMITZ, HINES AND KNOX STREETS, FROM "c" <br />(COMMERCIAL) TO "C-2" (COMMERCIAL). <br /> <br />Dr. Tauch moved the Ordinance be approved on first reading. <br />Mr. Flores seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced a Follow-up Order authorizing the disbursement <br />of Certificates of Obligation for construction of the Police and <br />Courts Building. It is attached as a part of these Minutes. <br />Councilman King moved the Order be approved. The motion was <br />seconded the Dr. Tauch and Passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced an ordinance and read the caption as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE PRICE AND CONDITIONS OF THE <br />SALE BY THE URBAN RENEWAL AGENCY OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, OF PARCEL *14-D (SEE LEGAL READING), LOCATED WITHIN <br />THE JUAN VERAMENDI, PROJECT NDP, TEX. A-6, TO JOSE S. <br />GARCIA, AN INDIVIDUAL HOMEOWNER. <br /> <br />Mr. King moved the Ordinance be approved on first reading. <br />Mr. Flores seconded the motion. Albert Sierra, representing <br />the Urban Renewal Agency of San Marcos, explained that Mr. Garcia <br />planned to construct a single family residence on the property. <br />On roll call, the vote was unanimous to approve the Ordinance on <br />first reading. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced an ordinance and read the caption as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING AN ALLEY BEGINNING <br />AT THE TWO INSIDE BACK CORNERS OF LOTS 4 AND 5 BETWEEN <br />COLORADO AND HUTCHISON STREETS AND PARALLEL TO BOTH MOON <br />AND WATER STREETS, SUCH ALLEY BEING LOCATED IN BLOCK *21 <br />OF THE ORIGINAL TOWN OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS; AND DIRECTING <br />THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AND DELIVER QUITCLAIM DEED RELINQUISHING <br />ALL RIGHT, TITLE, AND INTEREST OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS <br />IN SAID ALLEY TO THE URBAN RENEWAL AGENCY OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, OF REAL PROPERTY ADJACENT THERETO. <br /> <br />Mr. King moved the Ordinance be approved on first reading. <br />Mr. Flores seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor opened a public hearing to consider an ordinance approving <br />the Urban Renewal Plans and the feasibility of relocation for <br />Neighborhood Development Program, No. Tex. A-6. Tim SchUltz, <br />Executive Director of the Agency, was present to discuss the plans <br />with Councilmen. There were no objections voiced against passage <br />of the Ordinance. The Mayor declared the public hearing closed <br />and read the caption of the Ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, APPROVING THE URBAN RENEWAL PLANS AND THE FEASIBILITY <br />OF RELOCATION FOR NEIGHBORHOOD DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM, <br />NO. TEX. A-6. <br /> <br />Councilman King moved the Ordinance be approved on first reading. <br />Dr. Tauch seconded the. motion., which passed unanimously. <br />
