Dr. Tauch withdrew <br />his motion, with consent of the seconder. Mr. Yarbrough moved <br />to table the resolution until turther study could be made. <br />Mr. King seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced tor consideration the dispostion of an <br />alley located in the Riverside Addition between McKie Street <br />and McGehee Street and parallel to Cheatham Street. Mr. Flores <br />explained that the alley was presently closed to through <br />tratfic; but that, with the Urban Renewal plan, it was desirable <br />to open the alley to aid in the development of the neighborhood. <br />Mr. Flores said that part of the residents in the area wished <br />the alley closed and part wished it open. Mr. Etheredge moved <br />to open the alley, and give residents six months to clear the <br />alley of structures and debris. Dr. Tauch seconded the motion. <br />Mr. King stated that he felt the alley would become important <br />as the area developed since city sanitation and utility vehicles <br />could make use of it. On roll call, the motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced an ordinance and the City Secretary read <br />the caption as follows: <br /> <br />AN AMENDATORY ORDINANCE RELATING TO POOL HALLS; PAR- <br />TICULARLY, TO THEIR HOURS OF OPERATION, AND REPEAL OF <br />THE PROHIBITION OF THE SALE, USE OR CONSUMPTION OF <br />ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES UPON SUCH PREMISES; AMENDING ARTICLE <br />III.
