Mr. Yarbrough moved to table the resolution until turther study could be made. Mr. King seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Mayor introduced tor consideration the dispostion of an alley located in the Riverside Addition between McKie Street and McGehee Street and parallel to Cheatham Street. Mr. Flores explained that the alley was presently closed to through tratfic; but that, with the Urban Renewal plan, it was desirable to open the alley to aid in the development of the neighborhood. Mr. Flores said that part of the residents in the area wished the alley closed and part wished it open. Mr. Etheredge moved to open the alley, and give residents six months to clear the alley of structures and debris. Dr. Tauch seconded the motion. Mr. King stated that he felt the alley would become important as the area developed since city sanitation and utility vehicles could make use of it. On roll call, the motion passed unanimously. I The Mayor introduced an ordinance and the City Secretary read the caption as follows: AN AMENDATORY ORDINANCE RELATING TO POOL HALLS; PAR- TICULARLY, TO THEIR HOURS OF OPERATION, AND REPEAL OF THE PROHIBITION OF THE SALE, USE OR CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES UPON SUCH PREMISES; AMENDING ARTICLE III. OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS BY AMENDING SECT. 22-46 THEREOF AND BY REPEALING SECT. 22-47 THEREOF; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Dr. Tauch moved the ordinance be approved on second reading. Mr. Etheredge seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Mayor introduced an ordinance and read the caption as follows: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF LOTS 13, 14, 15, 16 AND 17 IN THE COERS SECOND ADDITION, FROM "R-l" (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) TO "D" (MULTIFAMILY). I Mr. Yarbrough moved the ordinance be passed on second reading. Mr. Etheredge seconded the motion, whiCh passed unanimously. The Mayor introduced an ordinance and read the caption as follows: AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING AND REGULATING RATES AND CHARGES WHICH MAY BE COLLECTED FOR LOCAL TELEPHONE SERVICE RENDERED IN THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS. Mr. DeLa Rosa moved the ordinance be passed on third and final reading. Dr. Tauch seconded the motion. On roll call, the rollowing vote was recorded: AYE: NAY: ABSTAIN: DeLa Rosa, Flores, King, Tauch, Yarbrough Cunningham Etheredge I The Mayor declared the ordinance Passed, Approved and Adopted. The Mayor introduced an ordinance and read the caption as follows: AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AND THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY CONSISTING OF APPROXIMATELY 632 ACRES OF LAND, WHICH SAID TERRITORY LIES ADJACENT TO AND ADJOINS THE PRESENT BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS.
