regular meeting, March 27, 1972 page two The Mayor presented an amendment to an appl ication for funds for flood control. He read a letter from Mr. A.H. Dawson; President of the Flood Control District reporting the favor- able returns of the Bond Election held on March 14. The letter is made a, part of 'the Minutes. He then called for discussion on the amendment. Mr. Dawson explained that the purpose of the amendment was to include the Uppel' San Marcos Watershed and Flpod Control District as a co-sponsor fop the Flood District. He, stated that the organization was now working for operptional money and that the Soil Conservation Board had been extended an invitation to hold an officIal meeting in San Mar~os in Mayor June. Mr. Dawson invited the citizens of San Marcos to attend this meeting to show their interest in the program. Dr. Tauch moved approval of the amendment, Mr. .King seconded and the motion passed unanimously. I The Mayor introduced an ordinance with the following caption: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING,SECTION 3 ~f,THAT ORDINANCE WHICH R~GULAJES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUilDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND; DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32 ) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF A,20-ACRE TRACT nF LAND OUT OF THE J.M. VERAMENDI LEAGUE #2, LOCATED 1200' OFF IH 35 NORTH ON THE NORTHEAST FRONTAGE ROAD AT THE REAR Of A 40' DEDI- CATED COUNTY ROAD, FROM "R-1" (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) TO "M" (MinD) ~rs. Emery moved approval of the ordinance on second reading. Dr. Tauch seconded the motion, which passed, unanimously. The Mayor introduced an ordinance with the following caption: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 30 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ENTITLED "WATER AND SEWER AND SEWAGE DI.SPOSAL" BY DELETING THE PRESENT SECTION 30-1, 30-2 and 30-5 OF ARTICLE 1 THEREOF; SUBSTITUTING NEW SECTIONS UNDER THE SAME NUMBERS BY CREATING A NEW SECTION 30-7, "RECONNECT FEES"; DELETING THE PRESENT SECTIONS 30-27, 30-28 AND 30-35 OF ARTICLE II THEREOF; SUBSTITUTING NEW SECTIONS UNDER THE SAME NUMBERS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFEcnVEDAJ.E I
