<br />regular meeting, april 24, 1972 <br /> <br />page two <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced a Resolution approving submission <br />of an application for funding of the second year of the <br />Code Enforcement Program. A copy is attached as a part <br />of the Minutes. The City Manager gave a bri~f report on <br />the accomplishments of the first year, and some of the goals <br />for the second year. Mr. King moved approval of the Resolut- <br />ion. Dr. Tauch seconded th~ motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced an Ordinance authorizing Certificates of <br />Obligation for payment of architectural and other profession- I <br />al fees, and related costs, of the Police and Courts Building. <br />A copy is attached and made a part of the Minutes. Councilman <br />Yarbrough moved adoption of the Ordinance on an emergency basis. <br />Mr. Etheredge seconded the motion and on roll call, the follow- <br />ing vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Cunningham, DeLa Rosa, Etheredge, Flores, King, Tauch, <br />Yarbrough <br /> <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the Ordinance Passed, Approved and Adopted. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced an Ordinance with the following caption: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE <br />WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE <br />OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, <br />1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF AN ll-ACRE <br />TRACT OUT OF THE T.J. CHAMBERS SURVEY, ORIGINALLY <br />KNOWN AS "THE GILLETT PLACE", FROM "R-l" (SINGLE- <br />FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) TO "0" (MULTI-FAMILY) <br /> <br />Councilman Yarbrough moved approval of the Ordinance on <br />second ~eading. Dr. Tauch seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced an Ordinance with the following caption: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE <br />WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE <br />OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23. <br />1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF LOT 82 IN <br />THE PARK ADDITION,LOCATED AT 1007 NORTH L.B.J. DRIVE, <br />FROM "0" (MULTI-FAMILY) TO "M" (MIXED) <br /> <br />Mr. King moved approval of the Ordinance on second reading. <br />Dr. Tauch seconded the motion, and on roll call, the follow- <br />ing vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Cunningham, DeLa Rosa, Flores, King, Tauch, Ya~brough <br />NAY: Etheredge <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the Ordinance passed on second reading. <br /> <br />Councilman DeLa Rosa ~sked the City Manager to check on a <br />drainage problem on McKie Street, caused by construction of <br />the Cummings Building ay 401 South L.B. J. Drive. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. DeLa Rosa expressed dissatisfaction with local movie <br />theatres that show previews of X-rated fi Ims during G-rated <br />movies attended by families with young children. "I intend to <br />check th i s out, and if reports are true, I will make a moti on <br />to have this stopped", the Councilman said. Mr. King said: <br />"How do we go ~bout this? Where do one person's rights stop, <br />and another's begin?" Mr. Flores said: "I don't know the <br />legal ity of it. I have heard there was some trouble with <br />
