The Mayor called attention to the fact ~ha~ two weeks ago, a delegation had appeared before the Council, criticizing ~he City for not moving fast enough in relocating flood victims in emergency housing. He said he felt sure the City Manager would see that the mobile home was moved to a different location.. Councilman Etheredge s.aidhe had talked with Mrs. Delores Crittenden, for whom the mobile home was being providen.. She had stated she was will ing to move the mobile home, since she planned to build a home on the lot at a later date, and she didn't want to upset anyone in the neighborhood. II The Mayor. j~troduced a request from Mr. Otis Drumm for a temporary permit to place a mobile home at 1508 Loop 82, as recommended by the Planning and Zoning Commission. Mr. King moved the request be approved. Dr. Tauch seconded the motion which passed unanimously. The Mayor introduced an Ordinance with the following caption: AN ORDINANCE RELATlNG TO THE LEVY AND COLLECTION OF A HOTEL OCCUPANCY TAX; PROVIDING FOR THE DEFINITION OF CERTAIN TERMS.; ESTABLISHING THE RATE OF THE TAX AND EXCEPT! ONS TO ITS J MPOS IT ION; . PROV 10 I NG FOR THE COLLECTION OF SUCH TAX; REQUIRING.THE FILING OF REPORTS OF COLLECT~ONS; AUT~ORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO MAKE NECESSARY RULES AND REGULATIONS RELATIVE TO THE COLLECTION OF SUCH TAX AND AFfORDING HIM ACCESS TO BOOKS AND RECORDS; DEC~ARING FOR WHAT THE PROCEEDS OF SUCH TAX SHALL BE,USED; PROVING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOlAJlON OF THIS ORDINANCE; ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND SETTING FORTH OF A SAVINGS CLAUSE II Mr. Yarbro~gh moved the Ordinance be approved on third and final reading. Mr. Yarbrough moved appoint~ent of Mr. Ramiro Lugo and Mr. Murray Rossenwasser alternates to the Board of Equal ization. Mr. King seconded the ~otio~ which passed unanimously. Mr. Yarbrough moved Mr. Aart Mi Ilecam be appointed to the Environmental Advisory ComMittee. Mr. Etheredge seconded the Motion which passed unanimously. Mr. Etheredge moved Miss Carol CI ickbe appointed to the Library Board~ Mr. Cunningham seconded the motion which'passed unanimousJy. Mr. Yarbrough moved that the Counci I request the Hays County I Bar Association review the appl ications submitted for the position of Municipal Court J~dge. Mr. King seconded the motion. Mr. Etheredge said that, inasmuch as it was not required that the Municipal Judge bean attorney, he didn't feel it was proper to consult the Bar Association for a recommendation.
