The Mayor <br />called attention to the fact ~ha~ two weeks ago, a <br />delegation had appeared before the Council, criticizing ~he <br />City for not moving fast enough in relocating flood victims <br />in emergency housing. He said he felt sure the City Manager <br />would see that the mobile home was moved to a different <br />location.. Councilman Etheredge s.aidhe had talked with <br />Mrs. Delores Crittenden, for whom the mobile home was being <br />providen.. She had stated she was will ing to move the mobile <br />home, since she planned to build a home on the lot at a later <br />date, and she didn't want to upset anyone in the neighborhood. II <br /> <br />The Mayor. j~troduced a request from Mr. Otis Drumm for a <br />temporary permit to place a mobile home at 1508 Loop 82, <br />as recommended by the Planning and Zoning Commission. Mr. King <br />moved the request be approved. Dr. Tauch seconded the motion <br />which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced an Ordinance with the following caption: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE RELATlNG TO THE LEVY AND COLLECTION OF <br />A HOTEL OCCUPANCY TAX; PROVIDING FOR THE DEFINITION <br />OF CERTAIN TERMS.; ESTABLISHING THE RATE OF THE TAX <br />AND EXCEPT! ONS TO ITS J MPOS IT ION; . PROV 10 I NG FOR THE <br />COLLECTION OF SUCH TAX; REQUIRING.THE FILING OF <br />REPORTS OF COLLECT~ONS; AUT~ORIZING THE CITY MANAGER <br />TO MAKE NECESSARY RULES AND REGULATIONS RELATIVE TO <br />THE COLLECTION OF SUCH TAX AND AFfORDING HIM ACCESS <br />TO BOOKS AND RECORDS; DEC~ARING FOR WHAT THE PROCEEDS <br />OF SUCH TAX SHALL BE,USED; PROVING PENALTIES FOR <br />THE VIOlAJlON OF THIS ORDINANCE; ESTABLISHING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE; AND SETTING FORTH OF A SAVINGS CLAUSE <br /> <br />II <br /> <br />Mr. Yarbro~gh moved the Ordinance be approved on third and <br />final reading. Mr. Yarbrough moved appoint~ent of Mr. <br />Ramiro Lugo and Mr. Murray Rossenwasser alternates to the <br />Board of Equal ization. Mr. King seconded the ~otio~ which <br />passed unanimously. Mr. Yarbrough moved Mr. Aart Mi Ilecam be <br />appointed to the Environmental Advisory ComMittee. Mr. Etheredge <br />seconded the Motion which passed unanimously. Mr. Etheredge <br />moved Miss Carol CI ickbe appointed to the Library Board~ <br />Mr. Cunningham seconded the motion which'passed unanimousJy. <br /> <br />Mr. Yarbrough moved that the Counci I request the Hays County I <br />Bar Association review the appl ications submitted for the <br />position of Municipal Court J~dge. Mr. King seconded the <br />motion.
