ON 5.1\ OF SA I 0 APPEND I X <br />ENTITLED "DISTRICTS DESIGNATED" BY ADDING THE DESIG- <br />NATION "MHP" FOR MOBILE HOME PARKS; BY DELETING SECTION <br />15.1 Of SAID APPENDIX ENTITLED "TEMPORARY USE Of LAND <br />BY TRAILER HOUSES" AND SUBSTITUTING AN ENTIRELY NEW <br />SECTION UNDER THE SAME NUMBER ENTITLED "MOBILE HOME"; <br />AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Yarbrough moved consideration of the ordrnanc~ on second <br />reading. Mr. King seconded the motion. Mr. Etheredge urged <br />the Council to "vote down" the ordinance, since he felt the <br />City did not have. the right to "tell a man he can't put a <br />mobile home on his own property". Dr. Tauch said, after studying <br />the matter, since the first consideration of the ordinance, and <br />talking to many people, he had come around to Mr. Etheredge's <br />view. The question was discussed at length. On 1'01 I cal I, the <br />fol lowing vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: King <br />NAY: Cunningham, DeLa Rosa, Etheredge, Flores, Tauch, <br />Yarbrough <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion to apprqve the "MHP" zoning <br />classification ordinance defeated. <br /> <br />The Mayor suggested the City Manager gIve' the matter further study. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced an ordinance and read the fol lowing caption: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE APPENDIX TO THE CODE OF <br />ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS BY CREATING <br />APPENDIX E, PROVIDING MINIMUM STANDARDS FOR MOBILE <br />HOME PARKS; ESTABLISHING REQUIREMENTS FOR DESIGN, <br />CONSTRUCTION, ALTERATION, EXTENSION AND MAINTENANCE <br />OF MOBILE HOME PARKS AND RELATED UTILITIES AND <br />FA~ILITIES; AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS FOR <br />CONSTRUCTION, ALTERATION AND EXTENSION OF MOBILE <br />HOME PARKS; AUTHORIZING THE LICENSING OF OPERATORS <br />OF MeBILE HOME PARKS; AUTHORIZING THE INSPECTION OF <br />MOBILE HOME PARKS, FIXING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS; <br />AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE <br /> <br />Mr. Yarbrough moved approval of the ordinance on second reading. <br />Mr. Etheredge seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced an ordinance and read the fol lowing caption: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />,AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH <br />REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILpINGS, <br />STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY <br />CHANGING THE ZONING OF BLOCK 36, LOTS 1,2,3 AND PART OF 4, <br />OUT OF THE VICTORY GARDENS SECOND ADDITION AT THE CORNER <br />OF NIMITZ AND HINES STREET, FROM "M" (MIXED) TO "C-2" <br />(COMMERCIAL) <br /> <br />Mr. Etheredge moved ~doption of the ordinance on third and <br />final reading. Mr. Cunningham seconded the motion and on 1'01 I <br />cal I the fol lowing vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Cunningham, Etheredge, Flores, King, Tauch <br />NAY: DeLa Rosa, Yarbrough <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the ordinance Passed, Approved and Adopted. <br />
