<br />/- <br /> <br />EXHIBIT "A" <br /> <br />ARTICLES OF AGREEMENT <br /> <br />This AGREEMENT, made and entered into by and between tHose cities, <br /> <br />counties and other governmental units within the ten-county area <br /> <br />II of the Capital Area Planning Council. <br />WIT N E SSE T H: <br /> <br />The undersigned cities and counties acting ln performance and dis- <br /> <br />charge of their governmental functi.,ns and ln consideration of the <br /> <br />mutual advantages to be derived therefrom, hereby agree to establish <br /> <br />and by these presents do establish a Regional Planning Commission or <br /> <br />Council of Governments under Article 1011M, Texas Civil Statutes. <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />The name of the Regional Planning Commission or Council of Govern- <br />I <br />ments established by this Agreement shall be Capital Area Planning <br /> <br />Council. <br /> <br />I l' <br /> <br />The organization, powers, duties, membership and functions of the <br /> <br />association created hereby shall be as set forth,in the Bylaws <br /> <br />attached hereto, under the terms and conditions in those Bylaws as <br /> <br />stated or as they may be amended. <br /> <br />111. <br /> <br />This Agreement and the Bylaws of the Association shall be effective <br /> <br />upon the date of its ratification by the ordinance, minute order, <br /> <br />resolution or other appropriate signification of assent by the parties <br /> <br />hereto as shown by a certified coPy of said ordinance, minute order, <br /> <br />resolution or signification of assent under the hand of the clerk or <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />secretary of any original signatory party or a similar certified copy <br /> <br />in the case ol~ arty govcrrlmental unit becoming a Inember oi~ t}le assoc- <br /> <br />iation after the execution of this Agreement by the parties originally <br /> <br />signatori_cs her'eta. <br /> <br />WITNESS OUR HANDS this 12th day of October, 1970. <br /> <br />A~T; ) <br />~;0M' (f 10-4 <br />George'-(;'.
